Read moreI'm not sure if all the staff feel the same, but the day we went it was obvious the staff did not like kids. I went in first and without kids to check prices and see what it was like. We were excited to visit the inside and look around. The staff was very nice and informative when I was alone. Once my husband walked in with my kids the entire atmosphere of the staff changed. We were holding our small children to show them around and the staff became very curt. They fussed at us about anything (again, while we were holding out children looking around, not letting our kids walk around or touch anything). A gentleman passive aggressively deterred my wife and sister from entering with their children. He said, "This is a History museum, not a children's play place. They will not have fun."
On their website it says, "If there are young ones in your family, the children's room will take them, and you, way back to a simpler time." If children are not allowed, clearly refuse your guests and don't advertise it on your website.
If they are allowed, which it seems they are, it is inappropriate to guilt trip visitors and discourage them from receiving an education.
