On 3/25/2022 I and my party of 2 wanted to try out the new Taqueria in town. Everything was okay until we received our bill. To my dismay and disappointment the bill came with an additional charge "Non Cash Adj of $1.00", now to a lot of people a $1.00 is not a big deal. Out of curiosity I asked the waitress what was the extra $1.00 for and she stated she had no idea and needed to ask the manager. I observed them as they spoke about it amongst each other in a group and after going back and forth the manager finally agreed to come talk to me at my table because the waitress was unable to explain it. The manager explained that the $1.00 adjustment was for their merchant services fees being passed onto their customers. Mind boggling that this is a huge restaurant chain in Houston and they do not want to pay their own merchant services. I myself as a small business owner am aware of business merchant fees which at the most for many are .30 cents per transaction. The manager offered to remove the fee if ONLY we paid cash. We are living in the 21st century and don't carry cash as most don't. As a business owner I find that upsetting that a large restaurant chain are passing their bills onto their customers. If you don't have a problem paying the $1.00 merchant services fee for using your debit/credit card awesome. But be Wary of the $1.00 merchant charge. But as for me and my party we will NEVER...
Read moreI got the Arandas special with nopales for my late night anniversary dinner and, man... the spread they sent home was unbelievable!!! I mean, un-freaking-believable! There was so much food, and not only was there plenty of food, it was DELICIOUS FOOD! They even sent home salsa and chips and chiles torreados. It was like... family reunion good! I don't even want taco truck tacos anymore. All I want is the Arandas Special from now on. Period!! God, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Damn... so good!
Update: So, now we've ordered from them three times, and the quality has been just as impeccable as the first time. When I called in to order for pick up, the person who answered gave me a tip to order online to get the Doordash special. I was only going to get the family fajitas, but after his suggestion, we saved so much that we decided to buy extra salsas and 2 guacamole orders. We probably spent more than had we just bought the fajitas, but we got a lot more of our favorite sides, making our dinner ever more incredible. They did forget our chips for the guacamole orders and one salsa Verde, but since we're so far away, they have me down for free replacements when we order again. I am such a fan of this locations quality and service! Above and beyond x 1000!!! Highly recommended by me...
Read moreI've gone to Arandas a few times in the past, and taken my wife. Especially the bakery! But, my wife wanted to go to Arandas so badly on her birthday, but I was stuck at work. So Sister in law took her for me. The staff at Arandas went above and beyond! My wife's birthday was August 29th, family came to visit and took her too some very nice and expensive restaurants in Houston threw out the week. Some 5 star establishments that you leave hungry at the end. None of them beat Arandas. The food was great and it was fresher and better than any place she visited in Houston. They sang Happy birthday and celebrated her birthday with her, even when they brought out the most delicious, caramel tres leche cake, they celebrated with her. The thing is; my wife was told by doctors in Las Vegas and Los Angeles that she would not live to see the age of 45 because she has congestive heart failure. She celebrated her 54th birthday at Arandas, and they made it the sweetest birthday ever. I'll never forget what they did, especially Ms. Coralia. "I hope I got her name right." Plz, if you want a good family environment, great food, great bar to go with it and a bakery that is the best! Go to Arandas taquria, bakery, and sports bar. Greatest...
