I’m a member at this gym. Today I arrived around 9:30 PM with a friend. Upon approaching the entrance an individual exits the building and rudely demands “You two need to step away from her car now!” She repeats this again as I stand there dumbfounded at the random disrespect directed at me. Readers should note that this car is parked in front of the entrance. Anyone parking here should expect high foot traffic when parking here. I tell her “Alright chill the heck out” and enter 24 Hour Fitness. After asking the staff at the front desk, it turns out she is a manager named Alex. Alex if you are reading this I hope you realize that was completely rude and unprofessional. As a customer I feel disrespected and unappreciated here. I want some form of apology and will be taking action.
Incident Update:
It has been about two months since I posted a 1 star review about this 24 Hour Fitness facility. After being notified by google on the level of attention my review was receiving, I feel it is only right to give an update on the situation. Here is the rest of the story.
A few days after the incident, I got in touch with Spencer, the General Manager, and explained what had occurred. Spencer was extremely apologetic and expressed his utmost desire to make things right. Although there was no turning back the clock, Spencer expressed a desire to move forward in the right direction and that he would do everything in his power to make things right. The following day after speaking to Spencer, Alex called and gave me her apologies. Although the incident was still fresh in my mind, the fact that she called and apologized meant a lot. It was very professional and I thank you for that Alex.
Currently, I am still a member at 24 Hour Fitness. In my opinion, Spencer's handling of the situation is a fine example of how a General Manager should address any situation. I have the utmost respect for him and I believe his professionalism will have a trickle down effect on his team. Since explaining the situation to him, Spencer always kept the dialogue positive and made me feel appreciated as a customer. I can honestly say I will continue to be a member of 24 Hour Fitness for the...
Read moreIf you like going to the gym mid afternoon, putting your headphones in, and zoning into your own space, this gym will work for you. The front desk staff acknowledges you and is nice to talk to if you’re looking for a convo and the mid afternoon crowd isn’t too busy and people typically mind their own business. If you’re looking for an evening gym, I wouldn’t recommend. Although I love this place because of the space, in the evening time there are tons of high school kids and almost every machine has a wait (don’t even try the squat racks after 6pm unless you plan to drink your pre workout while stretching on the grass pad). Mornings are nice though. Again, people just mind their own business and it doesn’t get too crowded because I feel like the 30 year old and under folks are trying to get in and get out before their work day starts. (Highly recommend the 9am yoga class, it can get busy sometimes though)
If you’re like me and you wanna get an idea of the space:
5 squat racks (more than 5 barbells), 2 trap bars, 2 smith machines, 2 horizontal leg press machines and one 45 degree leg press, a hack squat machine and a v squat machine, 3 calve machines, and more (most days they all work but sometimes a few will be out because a lot of people go here lol).
As for upper body training, there’s a decent amount of free weight space. Good variety of chest/shoulder press machines, like 4 different lat pull down machines, 2 back extensions, and at least 4 or 5 bench press racks (diff variations). And of course there’s a cable section and 3 of those adjustable free standing cable machines that look like T’s.
Theres a lot more but overall, the staff is nice, the locker rooms (women’s) are usually clean, decent selection of equipment, and it’s busy during the times you’d...
Read moreupdate 9/2023: I’m getting sick and tired of the machines being broken. Leg press has been broken for 5 months. I’m sick and tired of the smelland the filth of the gym. Both Leg extensions, leg curls are also broken and both leg presses. **
UPDATE 1/15/2023: I added some pictures. Also 6 out of16 treadmills doesn’t work. They still haven’t fixed any of the machines on 2/7/23 *
It has been a year since I joined this gym, and they have been promising to open 24 hours, and they still haven’t. Last year they close early due to covid, but the restrictions has lifted long ago, and they still close arent open 24hours. I’m not paying 45+ for a gym that closes at 11. This is my biggest problem with this gym. But since I’m writing a review anyways, I should mention that the floors and bathrooms are always dirty, and need to swept/mopped more often. There are always broken equipments, and they take awhile go get repaired. Most gyms always upgrades, but this gym deteriorates over time. They also need a stricter reracking policy because people leave their weights everywhere, and as a result, there are people who can’t move heavier weights when they need to use an equipment or bench that has too much weights on it. Finally, why are trainers allowed to occupy multiple machines at a time even when they aren’t using it? If regular members do this, it is frowned upon. For a franchise gym, this gym is really not the greatest. I still have to come to this one though because it is the...
