EDIT 2: Going to keep the original review up, but they have improved on every aspect that I initially gave them 2/5 stars on. A much better seller's experience, idk if my review meant anything or not but I'm glad to see them fixing the entire seller's experience to be more pleasant and seeing employees handle cards much more meticulously! Definitely one of the best card shops in Vegas whether you're a buyer or seller. Next stop is to get a bigger location to start hosting competitive play!
For a long time I've had a very favorable opinion on this store, and to a point I still do. However the last couple times I've visited it's been getting worse. Let me start from a buyer's perspective: zero issues, prices are fair for an in-person card shop, yes you can get much cheaper online or in other stores but their large stock makes up for it, not to mention how much overhead actually is for a storefront. One of my favorite stores as a buyer. From a seller's perspective is why I give it 2/5 stars, which is fair when you are a Buy/Sell/Trade store. I can forgive the 60% cash / 70% store credit price as that's relatively common and is actually on the higher side compared to other stores. My issue is how they handle your product and how everything is at the owner's discretion. I recently brought in a few ungraded high-value cards, where I glanced over at the employee taking my cards completely out of their sleeves and card savers touching them with his bare, unclean hands and metal tool. I was then told that my pack-fresh card has scratches and corner damage which was not present when I brought the card in. On top of this, I have gone multiple times over the last 2 months to bring in PSA slabs, only to be told that the owner is not replying to his discord mentions and to come back next time, to finally be told they bought too many PSA slabs and to come back in a couple months. What kind of store owner 1. uses Discord @s of all things as communication and 2. doesn't respond to possible buys? I have sold things here before with no issue, however I'm not sure if it's the new employees or what but that experience is much worse than previously. This all sums up my 2/5 star rating, for buying it's a great place with extremely diverse stock and constantly-updating singles. However for selling you're better off just listing online and not dealing with the troubles of staff not trained well enough to handle cards and an unresponsive owner.
EDIT: To respond to the owner’s reply, thank you for the quick response. I would like to address this also. The on the road excuse is fine, but being that I have stopped there 6 times in the last 2 months to be told the exact same thing at different points in the day that’s pretty coincidental you’d be driving every time. I’m just making a note that, as a local where this is pretty much the only non-convention spot to sell slabs in person, it could be handled a little better. You also failed to address the other primary concern I have about proper card handling. Makes me wonder how many cards in your display have become LP/MP based off of how some employees handle them. Love the store and will always be a buyer there do not get me wrong, just going to be very hesitant on selling anything (especially raw cards)...
Read moreCame here about a year ago and the experience was ok. I bought a graded card a that was that. Came back two weeks ago with my whole family. This time I was looking for sealed One Piece Products. I had some cards to trade in whilst I was there. I was meet with a tiny Asian dude wearing glasses. He has Zero Personality and Zero People Skills. He Lazily Skimmed through my cards and told only half of my Bangers. Then he gave me a horrible trade in rate. Starting to get a little aggravated with the deal I try to be positive. I let the cards go, and receive some store credit. I proceeded to buy 8 Starter Decks and 5 Treasure Booster Boxes. As I’m checking out I realized that I’m Blowing over $500 in this dump. I ask the girl if she can over a discount and she says Absolutely No. Wow. So then I asked if she can throw in a McDonald’s Pokemon pack for my Autistic son. They happened to have about 500 packs that they must of taken off a truck somewhere. She says no, can’t do that. So when I get back to my Hotel Room to open everything up I just so happen to have the Absolute Worst Pulls in my life!!!! We are not even talking about an Alt Art!!!!?? Then it hit me like a brick!! All these items are not technically Sealed and have free packs in them. So I would bet Everything that this dude Weighs his packs !!!! No let’s keep in mind while I was in Vegas for the week I must of hit 5 different card shops. One was better than the other. Anyways, Super Shady ! Super Small !! Not Friendly!! Bad Overall Experience Learn from my mistakes and Avoid this Shady Pack...
Read moreJust a general PSA for anyone reading the Google reviews.
Pokemon trading card packs naturally have that glue-like residue at the top. It's part of how the packs are sealed by the manufacturer. I've seen reseals and they're significant more discrete. You can also tell if a box is legit by the wrapping around it; there will be the official pokeball logo on the wrapping. And just like the seller responded in a previous review, if you rip one of the cards (like the energy card) there will be a small black film separating the front and back of the card which is hard to replicate with fakes.
Please do your research and compare real vs fake before posting about LGS. With the pandemic upping the number of backpack resellers, the market is hard as is
Now for the real review:
This place is great if you are interested in purchasing TCG product (sealed or singles). They have a wide variety of TCGs, including Digimon, Pokemon, Weiss Schwarz, Final Fantasy, and other collectible cards such as Genshin Impact and the Spy x Family wafers (no MTG). The store is also stocked with Funkos and figures. The staff is very kind and helpful (albeit not all of them are knowledgeable about TCGs) and the atmosphere is filled with anime and KPOP music.
One of the few things you won't find here that you might expect from a LGS is tabletop space for playing but the shop is simply too small.
While it's unfortunate they do not have a TCGPlayer, that's all the more reason to check this place out when visiting Vegas....
