Read moreCHINA MAMA – Shanghai Plaza 4366 Spring Mountain Road, # 106 Las Vegas, NV 89102 I went to China Mama on Friday, 8/30/24, at approximately 4:40 pm. This was my first time ever eating there and also first time eating in Chinatown in Vegas. I was greatly disappointed. When I got there all the tables were full but, I was first on the waiting list with a wait of 8 minutes. (They have an electronic board at front door where you can register and check your status.) While I’m waiting, I noticed that another party (all Chinese or Asians), that was behind me on the waiting list, were seated. (Remember: I was FIRST on the waiting list so, this other party had to be behind me.). No matter. I said nothing and continued to wait. I waited 30 minutes to be seated (though I was first on waiting list that said 8 minutes.) I sat down and ordered Shrimp Chow Mein and a beer and my date had Tofu. After another good 30 minutes, I still had not been served my meal and I noticed that 2 other separate groups of people (both groups were Asians), that were several places behind me on the wait list, had been seated at their respective tables, ordered and were eating their food. I asked my waitress what happened to my order; she said they were working on it. (For 30 minutes, for Tofu and Shrimp Chow Mein, working on it???) The waitress admitted these people were all seated ahead of me and also, they got their food ahead of me and had no idea when my food would be ready. (Total time wasted in restaurant, up to now, was 60 minutes & still no food.) I said: I’m outta here. All I got from the waitress was an: I’m sorry. When I was getting ready to leave, I noticed the food that I had ordered was ready now but, the waitress gave it to that other table (that was behind me on the list and served before me) my food for free. (The restaurant could have, at least, offered to give me my food for free but, chose to give it to another party for free.) The manager never came to my table to apologize (I guess he was too busy), or offer any recompense himself. They charged me $15.00 for 2 beers (I had ordered another beer since the wait for my food was so long; I shouldn’t’ have had to pay for my beers since I only ordered them to go with my meal & it was TOTALLY their fault that created this incident.) I don’t know it this is a Chinese culture thing where you take care of Asian customers first (since they are apt to return more often-it’s all about money-then an American male like me). I do feel I was treated extremely rude and felt some definite discrimination. I know I will never go back to China Mama & would be hard placed to trust another restaurant in Chinatown to treat me fairly. Remember: first impressions in life (on anything) are so important! I intent to personally boycott China Mama (to everyone I meet and post this review everywhere on the internet I can) & be very skeptical of going to...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at China Momma, located on Spring Mountain Road in Las Vegas, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a memorable meal.
Crispy Beef: A Flavorful Delight The crispy beef at China Momma was exactly as I had hoped. Each piece was perfectly crispy on the outside, maintaining a delightful crunch with every bite, while the inside remained tender and juicy. The flavors were rich and varied, with a perfect balance of savory and sweet notes that made it an irresistible dish. The seasoning was spot on, and the texture was impeccable, making it a standout item on their extensive menu.
Orange Chicken: A Perfectly Fried Masterpiece The orange chicken was another highlight of our meal. Each piece of chicken was fried to perfection, achieving a golden-brown exterior that was both crispy and light. The chicken was then coated in a homemade orange sauce that was nothing short of divine. The sauce had the perfect blend of sweetness and tang, elevating the dish to new heights. What set this dish apart was the addition of candied orange peels as a garnish, adding a unique and delightful twist that enhanced the overall flavor profile.
Fried Rice and Chow Mein: A Delicious Duo No Chinese meal is complete without fried rice and chow mein, and China Momma did not disappoint. The fried rice was flavorful and cooked to perfection, with each grain of rice separate and infused with deliciousness. The chow mein was equally impressive, with noodles that were tender yet slightly chewy, complemented by a medley of fresh vegetables and savory sauce. Both dishes were the perfect accompaniment to our main courses, rounding out a truly satisfying meal.
Kid-Friendly Dining: A Thoughtful Touch One of the most charming aspects of dining at China Momma is their thoughtful approach to making children feel included. Each child is given their own miniature China set, which adds a special touch to the dining experience. This thoughtful gesture not only keeps the little ones entertained but also makes them feel like a valued part of the dining experience.
In conclusion, China Momma on Spring Mountain Road offers a delightful culinary experience with standout dishes like crispy beef and orange chicken. The delicious fried rice and chow mein, coupled with their thoughtful approach to family dining, make it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine in Las Vegas.
