I have eaten here a few times but this last visit was very very disappointing. I came in for lunch with my 4 year old daughter. We ordered a Chicken rice plate to share. I told the waitress my wife would order later when she would arrive.
But noticing that the place might be full, I decided to order another squid dish and steam rice ahead of time for my wife. Since staff did not bring water out, I went outside to get a bottle of water for my daughter once my wife made it to the table. My wife ordered another chicken rice for herself, but when my order came out, she asked to cancell her order, because she didn't realized I have ordered two items already. Staff seemed to be irritated bit, it was a simple mistake and it is not necessary to make it such a negative issue.
My wife and daughter did not finish all of the chicken rice so I asked for a togo box and a little more soy sauce for the chicken rice. The waitress brought out the box, bag, and soy sauce, but she cleared away some plates including part of another sauce that I was still going to take home. I paid my $21 credit card bill and asked if I could get an additional onion sauce for the chicken.
The bill came out for me to sign the credit card and I saw they charged me for the additional sauce without updating me. I asked them why did you charge me for the suace without an approval? He claims extra sauce is charged. I told him, my waitress cleared my dishes so i was not able to use my remaining sauce. With the waitress standing there, she claims I finished it. This was untrue, I told her, I did not finish my sauce, she cleared the table and did not simply asked if I was done with my meal. So the waitress turned to a bin where all the dirty dishes where and revealed my sauce plate from my table. More than half of the sauce was still in the dish. At that point she turned and walked away, not even apologizing on her mistake. The cashier refunded my money but he wasn't happy nor was he polite for being wrong and rude.
With this type of customer service, I don't think I will return to be treated in such a poor manner. The only tip you deserve is to better treat your customers. There are way better cheaper options all around, customers don't need to put up with poor...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe flew from San Francisco just for the wanton noodle and Hoi Nan chicken rice here, and they didnāt disappoint us!
First up, the wanton noodle is 10 out of 10; super authentic and flavourful that made me feel like I was in Hongkong. As someone grew up in HK, I have high standard for Canton, Hongkong style wanton noodles. They need to follow the tradition: the noodle must be of the right texture, the broth has to be made with perfection with ādai dey yuā, and the wanton needs the exact proportion of shrimps and pork (the hongkong style wantons are supposed to be small and thin-skinned). They made it the right way! Iām impressed and feeling blissful with this bowl of noodle.
The Hoi Nan chicken rice is my next favorite, actually it was as good as the wanton noodles. They offered three types of sauces, the chicken was delicious and tender, and not to mention they also made the rice perfectly.
Finally, the pork feet have completed our food trip in Vegas. They were full of collagen but not oily nor too fatty. Yum!
We also recommend the milk tea and cold lemon tea, and of course they made it the hk style.
Overall, we are deeply impressed by the authenticity of the restaurant and its atmosphere. Definitely it will be one of your restaurants to go if you have some sort of Hongkong connections. Also, if you are a hongkonger travelling to the U.S. and are homesick, come to...

88 Ambiance & Service: This is a small mom & pop sized noodle house tucked away in the corner of the plaza. We came during the lunch rush and it was packed and noisy because of the crowds. The service was very friendly and the kitchen got our dishes to the table very quickly even with a full house. Very good intimate service throughout our lunch.
88 dishes: We went with the #1 Shrimp & Pork Wonton Noodle Soup, #2 Pork & Shrimp dumpling noodle soup, #16 Hainan Chicken & Rice and the #33 Curry Fish Balls as a table appetizer. I had the #2 and it was pretty tasty overall. They were generous with the noodle and dumplings in both noodle soups. The broths were savory and noodles and dumplings were fresh. The fish balls were delish and definitely a re-order on the next visit. I had the #40 Hong Kong Style Cold Milk Tea and it was refreshingly flavorful. It was kind of a iced tea boba hybrid that I've never had before. Good stuff.
The bowls and rice plates are in the $10 range so you get pretty decent value. The noodle house competition is brutal in the Chinatown area but I think 88 noodle papa will be just fine. The quality and quantity is what you'd expect for the price and the fast service is a...
