Boatworks Shopping Mall — Attraction in Tahoe City

I love going to the Boatworks. It brings back such great memories. I have been coming here with my mom all of my life. The building is beautiful. With such a beautiful view of the water. You can always find a new and interesting little shop to shop at. Yes there are not a ton of shops,but it is not that kind of mall and it has never been. It would change its appeal and quant quality. I am happy to say that good old Hacienda restaurant has been here forever and is always delicious. I believe my first memory of eating at Hacienda I was probably 2 years old. You've GOT to stop here if visiting Tahoe City! Jake's on the Lake is superb! Enjoy the world's BEST crab cakes amongst other delights but we couldn't stop saying OMG OMG about the crab cakes. Top it off with one large slice of ice cream cake that two of us could not finish between us but yummmm sooooo good. The interior of the shopping mall had gorgeous woodwork and rustic cabin-like decor. It was a little deserted, but we visited during the winter. There are a couple of nice looking restaurants that were open in the evening only, a great art gallery, home decor store and a neat toy and game store. The highlight was Tahoe City Chocolates, which had an amazing array of classic, foreign and hand made candies, a good selection of sodas and ice cream.
