If I could give this place -1,000,000 stars I would. The employees (3 Asian women in the front -1 young, and 2 old) will be speaking in their language and laughing in your face while you're checking out with your purchases. They don't seem to even try to hide the fact that they're saying something bad about you in their language. I thought it was all in my head until someone else told me that they had the same experience there and no longer patronize that establishment. I am a paying customer and deserve to be respected wherever I choose to spend my money. I asked for the owner or manager to make a complaint and all of a sudden they're both out of town and no one knows when they'll be back. This store is about a minute away from me by car but I will be going to the Caribbean supermarket on Park Heights Ave. (which is miles out of my way) where I am always respected and can understand what they're saying. If you work hard for your money and want to be respected when you patronize a business DO NOT visit this establishment. We spend thousands of dollars here every year but will be going miles out of our way to the other Caribbean...
Read moreFinding a place that sells fruits and vegetables from the island pacifically is getting really hard to find, even though their fruits and vegetables do comes from varience places. I have to say that 80% comes from the Caribbean.
I'm health conscious, I'm do not trust foods that comes from places outside of the Caribbean.
You will definitely find everything from your home country here. In the d.c/v.a/m.d region, this place tops all variety of products you will ever find from the Caribbean.
Also the prices here are the best when compare to their competitors counterparts.
The fish section here are wild cut.. I recommend their goat, lamp, oxtail and king fish. For it all come from the Caribbean.
Most places have their meat comes from Australia... I do not trust does.
So overall I recommend this place.
I personally did not incounter any un- professional customer service but I could see what the other comment are getting to.
They were not as friendly being, but maybe next time I might have a different...
Read moreThis place must make bank judging on how many poeple shop here. The parking lot needs to be a lot bigger to accommodate all the patrons. I can barely walk thru to the Walgreens as I live close and walk in the area. As for the product, I don't normally shop here except for occasionally supplemental veggies or fruits which are always reasonably priced. The rest of what's in here seems to have a good quality based on all the sales It always smells like fish inside, but that and a lot of fresh meats are sold here, more of the exotic type. When I first came in to make minimal purchases, the transaction was completely silent and robotic, not much Cust serv skills here. They seem to have improved somewhat since , however. I don't see anyone working there from the Carribean; they all seem to be Korean or Asian. Guess they're all well versed in Carribean culture, food and cooking as...
