Island Quizine - Liberty Road — Restaurant in Milford Mill

I come to this location a lot and I’ve never had any problems until today (8-2-20). I placed my order at 3:15 PM online and it said it will be ready by 3:40. I got to the restaurant at 3:50 and they claimed that they did not get my order because online ordering wasn’t working. I said that wasn’t true because if it was working it would not have taken my money still. Therefore they had to prepare my food right then and there and said it would take about 20 minutes. The time was now 4:45 and I was just getting my food. I waited for over an hour for my food and when I asked for a coupon or anything for the inconvenience they would not give me anything. And I wasn’t the only customer who was quite upset about the service at this location and how much time it took to get our food despite us ordering online 30 mins to an hour prior. I came here again on 9-5-20 placing my order on grubhub 10 mins before 6, got the notification my food would be ready between 6:15-6:25. When i was 5 mins away, I get a text notification that my food would not be ready until 6:40-6:50. I get here and go inside at exactly 6:50 and was now told my order was never received because there was no paper in the printer to print my receipt and will have to wait another 15-20 mins for my food. This is the last time I order from this location....

This location is worse now. Service is less than 20%. The manager is unfriendly & rude. The cashier is wide-eyed rude and condescending, but no surprise there. If the manager is rude, why would anyone expect a polite cashier? The Chef came out and apologized for messing up my order after a long wait of close 1hr, went to remake my order in 20mins. It was a good attempt but the food?? Smh.. 😓😢Was the most painful $61 I have ever spent. SIXTY-ONE dollars for absolute rubbish. No salt. I asked for the food to have "heat"/be very spicy. There was not even a single dash of black pepper, talk more of ghost or habanero pepper. I asked for MEDIUM jerk sauce. She put ZERO jerk sauce. However, the worst of it all - the omelet was made with stale oil...... It left a horrible aftertaste in my mouth right from the first fork-ful... Under my tongue, it had this nasty effect you taste from stale oil. If you are used to cooking your own food, you'd know what I mean. OVERALL?? I will not waste my time coming to this location again. Waste of gas as I had driven all the way from the borders of DC simply because I used to live in that area as of 2024, and used to buy food from there. This restaurant is a very wonderful place to go to and I must stop for anyone that's coming to Baltimore or it's new to Baltimore. I had the pleasure of eating here several times. I work with a diverse group of people and they've never really had Jamaican Cuisine and I was so pleased that by recommending them to this restaurant that they were not disappointed at all. We ordered the escovitch fish and their large escovitch fish at that with two large oxtails with extra plantains and fruit punch and pineapple Ginger drinks. The food was excellently done without disappointment;our medical director, Statewide nursing director and program manager were most pleased. So good in fact that we've at least patroned two to three more times within this same month because of how great the food is. It is consistent the food is authentic and you will not be disappointed. And what's great is that if there's a problem or concern you can have access to speaking to a manager directly and getting the issue resolved. With no gripes or complaints. Again I am most pleased and would recommend this to anyone and if you're going to cater an event and you want real authentic Jamaican food that is done well and is people pleasing then Island Quizine is where...
