Amazing theatre. What’s most important to me when seeing a movie is the picture quality, the seats and the concession stand. Classic Cinemas York exceeded my expectations. I went to see a movie on their XQ screen and I was so thoroughly impressed by the quality. I usually choose AMC Dolby if I want to see a movie but I am not 100% happy with them so i decided to try something new. I’m so happy I did. Their XQ theatre is BETTER than AMC Dolby, picture was so crisp and clear and the sound was awesome. Their XQ theatre felt like imax AND Dolby but better. Their seats are heated and recline more than AMC Dolby seats, even the headrest adjusts. I didn’t buy any snacks but I’ll definitely be back and hopefully there’s mozzarella sticks for me and my sons. This theatre is 40 minutes from me but there are plenty of excuses to make the trip. There’s a sip and paint down the street, so many restaurants, including my fav sushi spot and a smoothie place. Also, it’s a beautiful area. The theatre itself is gorgeous as well. I’m so happy I took a chance. If you’re into seeing movies with the great quality picture and want to feel like you’re immersed in the movie I highly recommend you give their XQ theatre a chance. Thankyou so much classic...
Read moreThis theater is great. Even before you enter you're bound to notice the beautiful marquis and neon sign out front, a herald of the theater's history. Inside is no different. The walls are done in warm stucco and paintings hang all throughout. The trim is beautiful and the whole interior design really takes you back to a different era.
As for the actual theaters themselves though, they are fully modern. The seats are large and comfortable (although most don't appreciably recline) and the picture and sound both come through very clearly. Also, in spite of the number of theaters in use I have never once had a problem with sound bleeding over from one theater into another. This is a pet peeve of mine at some other locations.
Finally, the staff are really great. I have always had professional, courteous experiences with them. What's more, they are all pretty adept at their jobs, which can be a huge bonus when trying to hurry and buy tickets to see a crowded show.
Oh, and one other note: The prices are generally pretty good, ~$9.00 per ticket for an evening show, but go on a Tuesday if you can as ticket prices are almost always $5.00...
Read moreThis is my fourth time visiting, very happy with this movie theater. They really tasty movie going experience. Which is really nice. They have La-Z-Boy recliners, which are heated and adjustable at both the foot and headrest level. Standard they’ll be digital surroundsound, called and then the movie theater is also smaller than others which makes it feel more intimate and personal. It’s almost like you’re stepping back in time for humanities of today’s movie going in. I do wish that they would have better food out of that concessions but I also understand that having such simple options makes it easy to get your food and get to your movie. One thing I will notes if you’re going to go watch a movie here is that they start a little closer to the actual start time in years. Most of the theaters start 15 minutes after the hour, while they tried to start 8 to 10 minutes...
