Let me start by saying I am by no means an Indian food expert. We love to see this new restaurant open in our neighborhood. Very nice and convenient online ordering system and seamless pickup experience. Smiling staff. Based on the reviews these guys must know what they are doing. Itâs just that what they do really good, wasnât right for our taste buds. Overall, we found the spices to be very strong and tastes to be different from what we expected. It may be that the chef has put a different twist in them or did a different Indian regionâs version of the foods weâve come to love. I donât know honestly. But overall the tastes were a bit too out of the norm for us. One thing I would point out, though, is they used paper bags to put fried food in. It is either genius in that it doesnât make the food soggy, or a huge miss as it made all our other food be soaked in oil. I was a bit disappointed in the garlic naan and found it to be too dry. The samosa was very good. Pakora was just not my thing. Biryani was fine. Onion kulcha was the most amazing sounding food when we read it. But the actual food was OK. Any case, my hats off the the restaurant for bringing these unique tastes to Elmhurst. It was just unfortunate that we couldnât love it. We wish...
Read moreExcellent fast & friendly service!! Reasonably priced. The samosa could use more spices to enhance the flavor. The naan and tandoori chicken were absolutely delicious! The tandoori chicken was juicy and very flavorful! The garlic naan was soft & addicting! I had chicken tikka masala and asked for it to be spicy; but, I had to get extra hot sauce on the side because it was not spicy enough for me. However, my heat tolerance is very high and the rest of my family thought it was spicy enough. My husband had butter chicken and he said it was cooked perfectly. He ordered it to be cooked mildly spicy. I do prefer more flavor in my tikka but still enjoyed it at this restaurant. We also had a side of rice and it was cooked perfectly as well. My son had the mango lassi drink. It was refreshing and helped calm the spiciness of the Tikka for my son. He loved that it was made with fresh mangoes and ordered another to go! We will definitely be back to this gem of a spot! Itâs not a large restaurant but it has roomy booths as well as some tables. It was busy and many people were coming in and out. We are from the city of Chicago and dine at many different restaurants. This place seems to be a...
Read moreBest Indian restaurant in the area hands down. Portions are great for sharing, and the staff politely corrected us on how much rice we would need (they were of course correct about how much rice). All of the staff are polite, knowledgeable, and kind.
I got the Punjabi kadi, kashmiri naan, and fresh lime soda -- my friends got chicken saag and lamb dahiwala. Literally everything was amazing.
The onion fritters in the Punjabi kadi were a wonderful blend of salty and sweet that was well rounded by the curry.
The lime soda was pleasantly sweet and tart and paired well with the hotter dishes -- really refreshing, and washed away the heat easily.
The lamb dahiwala was actually my first time trying lamb and was just indescribably good. Meaty and full.
Kashmiri naan is a personal favorite of mine and the kashmiri naan here is just top quality. They don't skimp on the filling, and the filling is smooth and full of flavor.
The chicken saag I only got to try a little bit of because my friend loved it too much to share much lmao, but of what I tasted it was great!
Their chutneys and pappadam are...
