My girlfriend and I live like an hr and a half away. We run and manage a Neapolitan pizzeria there and have had quite a few pizzas in our day. Our usual date day is Monday since we have a lighter work load that day. I looked up AVPN certified pizzerias near us and we had already tried San Giorgio in Milwaukee and Il Ritrovo in Sheboygan. Gia Mia was next on the list and we had a wonderful experience. Huge surprise that pizzas were half on Mondays, honestly awesome deal! We ordered a bbq chicken pizza, sausage calabrese, harvest pie, and a beef short rib gnocci. Pizzas were excellent, soft crust and cooked to perfection. The sauce was very good and I'm glad I tried the bbq chicken one, as it isn't a typical Neapolitan offering, very good pizza. Love calabrian chile peppers. The gnocci was also very good, the beef short rib fell apart in your mouth. I had a Solemn Oath hazy ipa and a Penrose hazy ipa, the Solemn Oath was amazing and Penrose was good. She had a blood orange smash and a glass of cab, the blood orange smash was delicious and she enjoyed the cabernet sauvignon. Our waitress was prompt and brought out our orders as soon as they were ready, she was also very polite and informative about any questions we had. We also wanted to watch the pizzaiolos work the dough at the end of our visit and one of them showed us his stretching technique. We thoroughly enjoyed Gia Mia Pizza Bar. Very glad we took the trip and tried your restaurant. Thank you again.

Lovely! The blackened salmon was AMAZING. The spices on it were perfect and on top of the spinach salad was incredibly flavorful. Everyone loved their food. ALSO, the stinger pizza was also really good. I wish I wasn’t too full to have eaten more but man does it have a kick at the end from the hot honey. I really enjoyed that. They were out of their riesling but our server recommended the Bricco Riella moscato which was SO good. If you like sweet, I would recommend that. I loved it so much that I’ll have to buy it at the store because I could drink it anytime, it’s great. Our server was very patient, sweet, and had a very pleasant personality and the social skills were very well balanced to get along with each personality at the table. It takes a lot to make each person feel welcomed and a part of the experience so major props to her which I wish I could remember her name but she was lovely! The restaurant patio is open and in a nice area so it makes for a great spot to come to for dinner on any occasion. 10/10 recommend :-))

Went for a birthday celebration with 5 friends. We made the reservation 3 weeks in advance and were looking forward to trying and supporting this new local establishment. Just before our reservation time we received a phone call to tell us our reservation would be delayed. We didn’t mind and When we arrived the hostess proceeded to try to seat the 5 of us at a very small table for 4, and adding an extra chair on the corner of the small table, which was also at the entrance in a small and narrow walkway. When we explain that we didn’t want to sit there that there wasn’t enough room for us there and there wouldn’t be any room to even put our plates down the hostess was incredibly rude, refused to offer us a different suitable table where we all could actually fit, saying that was all she had, they were busy and that she was expecting larger groups and couldn’t do anything for us because they were so busy. When we tried explaining to her we made the reservation for 5, 3 weeks prior and just wanted a table that we could all fit at she was incredibly rude, curt, unapologetic and unwilling to make any accommodations or solution. Most unprofessional hostess I’ve ever encountered. After much waiting they offered to put together two high top tables so that we could fit. We do not want to see a high top tables but since that was the only option we took it. The service was incredibly slow, the entire night from drinks, appetizers, everything. we had to constantly ask for our plates to be removed and for silverware so we could eat. Its clear they overbooked and did not have enough help. And then when we ordered desert our server completely forgot to put the order in and never brought it. The overall experience was terrible the food was ok, average but it doesn’t make up for the fact that the staff and service was horrible. They redid the inside of this restaurant and the layout is poorly done, not enough space, odd layout, table seating. I’ve never written a review and I’ve never complained in my whole life, but the overall experience was so poor this is not a place I would ever recommend or go to again. Plenty of better...

I cannot recommend this establishment at all. We were here with a party of 7 and ordered about 10 different dishes. I must first say that my dish was good. This review is not (entirely) about the food but more about the experience as whole.

Among other dishes we also ordered 3 pizzas and 2 of them we ordered “well done”. What we received were pretty soggy and for sure not crispy pizzas. We even asked if one of the pizzas could be baked a little more. Which they did. But it didn’t make any difference at all except that it was cold when it came back. But that’s not what made this my worst restaurant experience in a longe time.

I rarely complain about restaurant food and I get that in these times it’s hard for restaurants to find enough and descent help…

Of the 3 pizzas we ordered only 1 was ok. The other 2 pizzas were just tried and the rest went back uneaten. After we told our server that we weren’t too happy with our pizzas (because they were definitely not well done, rather pretty soggy and not at all crispy) the waiter said he’d tell the manager.

The manager was apparently sooo busy that he couldn’t be convinced to even talk to us.

Never happened to me before!

In the rare occasion there was a complaint about food in a descent restaurant the manager always found a few minutes to talk to me. Even though the experience was already pretty awful at this point one of us still ordered a coffee. Which took about only 14 minutes to appear at our table…

Then we asked for the check. When the check arrived there was no complimentary offer and no offer to waive the pay of any of the mediocre dishes. And still no sight of the manager. He just couldn’t be bothered to talk to us.

At this point I’m pretty sure the manager knew we were unhappy, because when we left he chose to find something to do at the very other end of the restaurant so he again avoided talking to us.

This was the worst restaurant experience I had in a long...

11/10/24 Single dad of a 1yr old girl. Came in with 14 people to celebrate a birthday. Food good. Service good. Went to change my daughter. No changing table in the men’s room. When approached manager on duty to ask about solutions I felt blown off. I was literally left with no answer or helpful solution. So much so I instead approached two different servers to ask about this issue. I asked if I was the first dad to come in needing to change his baby. Both servers recalled at least twice where this has happened before. They both said they told their boss like they felt they should. And the one said it was about three months ago the last time it happened. So it’s completely evident that either the boss isn’t listening to the servers or MOD’s, OR the boss/owner just simply doesn’t care, but there’s been SUBSTANTIAL time to fix this issue.

Either way 500 bucks to take my daughter home in her soiled diaper sounds like you don’t want my business back. It doesn’t matter what you’re doing in the kitchen because the experience is being tainted over a changing table that costs literal peanuts in the whole model of your business

Oh, andI’m pretty sure it’s required by law to be installed so both men and women can access the table. Actually it’s TOTALLY the law in Illinois. You can’t have it in the women’s bathroom I’m literally leaving this google review page and filing a complaint with the health department of Elmhurst. This is COMPLETELY wrong I was made to feel this way and COMPLETELY wrong that you do this to patrons of YOUR business and their CHILDREN. Save your money if you’re a parent, especially a single dad trying his best to be there for his daughter. Completely wrong gia Mia. You sure did take my money though huh....
