Update: Now almost 7 years at this gym and it’s wild to look back at this initial review 3 months in. This gym has given me more than I could have imagined, best friends, career help, realtor to buy my first home, etc etc. 7 years in now I’m the vet helping others who are new and making them feel included. I’ve been in the best shape of my life over these years. Felt the best I’ve ever felt and most definitely the strongest and best cardio I’ve ever had. You won’t find a more welcoming gym that caters to all levels of fitness. Even if you are completely new and have never done any of the movements and feel intimidated. Theres someone at the gym that will relate to you and help you along with the great coaches. Everyone’s focus is on you succeeding getting a little better than you were the day before.
I stumbled upon one of the best Crossfit gyms out there because it was close to where I worked. This is my first Crossfit gym and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. The whole place is a big community. You’ll have 10 new friends within the first week or maybe the first day. More importantly to me the workouts are very challenging but not dangerous. Read moreThis year I decided to try something new to give my body a jump start and fight through a plato I was experiencing. My wife picked the Crossfit Resurgence Gym to do a boot amp and I decided to join her. This was my first time trying something like this outside of being in the military many years ago so I didn’t know what to expect. Right off the bat I was impressed with the coaches that helped guide us through this journey. Both Coach Dorian and Coach Joe are amazing individuals that truly care about helping people become healthier. Not only did they train our bodies by pushing us through workouts of various types they also trained our minds. This was done by teaching us proper nutrition to promote a healthier lifestyle and weight loss without starvation. It was also done by showing us how their different exercises had practical uses in everyday life. We were pushed past our mental limitations every workout and without us even noticing we were so much stronger for it. I managed to cut off a third of my time from the first workout we did on the last day of my training. We were able to workout in the evenings after work but they also provided options for almost any time that a person would need. After the last 15 months of going here, I can say I am in the best shape of my life. I was a collegiate athlete and former marathoner (3x Boston Marathon finisher), but even then suffered from nagging injuries and imbalances between strength/flexibility. After 3 years of living in Atlanta, I developed a bit of a beer gut and found myself out of shape. The coaching from attending 3-4 times a week helped me gain the strength, flexibility, and endurance that has helped my body to function at its best, and a good side result of adding muscle and losing a bit of fat around the waist.
