The hotel was gorgeous, clean, and well kept. I give this location 2 stars due to their lack of attention to our reservation request that resulted in a pretty much sleepless night during the last day of our stay. I booked the hotel stay 3 weeks before our stay that included a pet friendly room with double beds. (My 70 year old father, 2 year old daughter, and chihuahua were traveling with me). When we arrived I was told that the valet wasn't operating due to a 250 person party over the weekend...this led me to strategically make mulitple trips to get all luggage and everyone to the hotel room. When I arrived to the hotel room I realized that there was only one bed and a pull out couch. I asked the front desk about the 2 beds that I had reserved and they told me that 2 beds were not available for the pet friendly rooms. I asked to purchase another room that connected or upgrade to a suite. I was told that the entire hotel was booked and no such room in the pet friendly area existed. (I'm not sure why the website had allowed me to reserve something that didn't exist). The last day of our stay we arrived back around 8:30-9pm. My daughter was to eat and then go to bed, but the DJ and add-on tent were 30ft outside of our room and the music/bass were much to loud for anyone to sleep. I went to the front desk and asked to purchase another room- anywhere in the hotel, any type, and any price...so my daughter and father could get some sleep. I was told that there was literally nothing available at any price or any location for the night, but that the DJ wouldn't be playing long, as he was only contracted to play until 1am. ("Only 1am" with a 2 year old in tow made me chuckle) At this time in the night I decided that packing up and relocating to another hotel would just be an even bigger pain in the butt, so I decided to tough it out. I recorded by video how loud the music was in our room throughout the night. My toddler finally went to bed a few minutes before midnight. I plan on contacting corporate for a refund on the night, as I might have been better off buying a table at a night club for my father and daughter to sleep at. I've been attempting to contact their location by phone, as I still haven't received my receipt via email yet and I checked out nearly 6 hours ago. I haven't been able to get through to someone and the recording is telling me that they are you experiencing longer call waits than usual. Additionally, I ordered $100 worth of room service during the last night stay and for the price found that the food was very underwhelming- the shrimp scampi linguine was essentially noodles and shrimp in watered down melted butter. I have always enjoyed staying at other Hyatt regency locations, however this location was less than satisfactory and not what I'd...
Read moreWhen I first arrived, my check-in was going fine until I was notified of a non-refundable $100 pet fee. Though I understand the fee, it was not mentioned when I booked the room, so it was a very unpleasant surprise. Additionally, parking is $10/day and the lady checking me in felt it necessary to remind me SEVERAL times that there is a camera when I declined, as if I would try to sneak in a gated parking lot. I had to make a lot of trips back and forth to get my stuff into my room because I was checking in alone before picking up my mother from the airport, so I took a break to use my room’s bathroom when someone came knocking insanely hard telling me I had to move my car. My potty break took longer than anticipated because the toilet did not flush (pictured, sorry for the gross image in advance). Once I got all my stuff into the room, I picked up my mother an brought her back to the room and she insisted on adding the parking. Turns out, they had already charged me even though I had initially declined it and took that accusatory bashing for no reason.
Later that night, we tried to order some extra toiletries and the phone did not work. I had to walk to the front desk. We also asked about breakfast that Priceline said was included and they told us it wasn’t (it was actually $18, ridiculous).
The next day, we came back from our trip to the Georgia Aquarium (highly recommended, 5 stars) to a letter slid under our door letting us know that there would be no water from 9AM-9PM the next day due to plumbing issues.
The room was very dim and not well-lit at all. I guess that’s nice for a romantic stay, but I was with my mom, guys. lol There was one remote for both TVs, they charge a $140 incidental fee which they claim will be refunded after my stay, and the old fashioned key card did not work very well. I counted once and I had to enter it 7 times before I could open my door. Also, turndown service/room cleaning is only done every 3 days unless you request otherwise and if you have an uncreated dog, they’ll never come in (which I don’t blame them for).
Overall, I don’t think Hyatt sucks as a brand, but this stay was super memorable for all the wrong reasons. If there are any typos in this review, it’s because I...
Read moreI had a bad feeling at check-in and my instincts were correct. I’ve outlined our experience below..
Check In Process: The front desk attendant came across as inconvenienced by us checking in. She didn’t smile, didn’t ask how any of us were doing, literally no small talk which is fine, but at minimum be pleasant.
The room: We walked into a really warms because the rooms A/C is triggered by motion detection for energy efficiency. I have no issue with this, but the A/C would shut off after 5 minutes with no motion. This wouldn’t be as big of an issue if the A/C control was somewhere centralized. Instead it was tucked away in a corner that faced an area that no one walks past. I found myself getting up every 5 minutes through out the work day to keep the A/C going. Not only that, but what are you supposed to do once you fall asleep? I called the front desk to report the issue and I was told it was working by design…or so she is told by their “engineers.”
The furniture in the room is incredibly dirty and dated. The couch and chair in the living area were covered in stains. It was dirty enough that I convinced myself to only use the office chair that sat behind the desk.
The ceiling is covered with water stains and the walls have plenty of peeling and cracking going on in different areas. Leads me to believe they’ve had a good amount of leaks throughout the building…hopefully they’ve looked high and low for mold.
The hotel also has dated TV technology even though they claim to have chromecast, which they don’t. Bring your Amazon Firestick or equivalent if you’re someone that would like entertainment options.
The only positive of this location is the friendly lady behind the bar.
Last thing I’d like to add….I decided to go back and look at other reviews and it’s amazing how many people have similar feedback to mine and every individual seems to get the same response from management. I’m not sure how this place has a 4 star google review, but it is certainly misleading. I believe that management at this property is addressing each review but not addressing the actual concerns at...
