Five Below — Attraction in Oxon Hill

Wow—just wow! On May 5, 2025, I dashed into Five and Below, Oxon Hill, in a full-on party panic, needing last-minute balloons and decorations—and the entire team there absolutely saved the day.

I arrived breathless, juggling my phone, invitations, and a toddler, with zero time to spare. I was sweating the small stuff (literally!), hoping to find someone who could help me get my party plans back on track.

Charnetta and Virginia, who immediately leapt into action. They didn’t just point me to the balloon pump—they personally inflated every single balloon in record time, helped me select the perfect pastel-and-gold color scheme, and even assembled a stunning table display complete with confetti poppers. I’ve never seen such teamwork or efficiency in a retail setting!

What truly blew me away was how their effort went well above and beyond any “normal” cashier duties. Charnetta double-checked my order,Virginia offered styling tips, and together they turned a frazzled mom into a VIP guest in her own store.

Thanks to their kindness and skill, my daughter’s surprise party looked spectacular, and I felt like the luckiest parent in Oxon Hill. I am beyond grateful for their warm smiles and pro-customer attitude—they turned disaster into delight!

Maybe in due time they will have it figured out but I just left this location an it was so confusing at the checkout processing was greeted shopped I get in line there was a young lady ringing up an then self checkout the young lady ringing says NEXT I walk over she directs me to the self checkout because she ended up closing her line I respond with I would like balloons she points me to where they are ( mind you I waited in line for like 8 mins holding my things) to pick myself an they were gone I come back attempt to grab the ones that air floating around the store another young lady says you can’t take those I proceed to say well there no more over there so now what do I do which cause a scene because she was in the middles of a conversation with another women who proceeds at me like you just interrupted our conversation I was talking to her I say well she said something to me so I responded with a question leads to a heated argument they both walk off I ask the young wonderful lady blowing balloons do u have any she says no but you can take those if you like (the same ones the lady just told me I couldn’t) are you sure she states yes you can I’m sure an if they say you can’t come to me. So I just walked around this store confused got fussed at for being rude about interrupting an conversation I was bought into by the employee all for nothing okay. I really wish that I could give ZERO stars but unfortunately I’m forced to give at least one!! The store manager is Tonya is Very unprofessional I witnessed her arguing with a customer while one cashier was at the register. The line was long the Cashier had to call for help, none of the self checkout registers were open I don’t understand the purpose of having self checkout if you’re not going to use it. This is the only five below I’ve seen not using their self checkout. The Store manager set a horrible example...
