G&H Jewelers & Gemologists — Attraction in Solomons

My fiancee and I are thrilled with the experience we had with G&H! I had a particular date in mind to propose and David, Matt, and Callie at G&H made it their mission to make it happen. They worked quickly to expedite the process and ensure that I had a beautiful ring ready when I needed it. They were responsive and answered my (many) questions patiently. This was particularly important to me since I am not local to G&H and had many of my conversations with them over phone and email. I felt confident that they would help me create the ring of my fiancee's dreams. The fact that they make the pieces in-house was something I hadn't initially thought about, but really helped me feel certain that the end result would reflect the conversations I had with them about what I was looking for and what was most important. They also provided a 3D printed mold of the ring prior to its creation, which was very helpful. This helped me visualize what the ring would look like and identify any tweaks that I thought my fiancee would like. My fiancee was hoping for lab grown diamonds and the stones that G&H had were perfect. The lab grown diamonds were the perfect size and were superior quality. My fiancee's ring is three stones, a center oval with a pear on either side. The fact that the pears were such a close match and complemented the center stone so well was a great surprise as I had not expected to be able to find three stones that went together so well. As soon as I had the ring in my possession I was incredibly excited to propose as I knew my fiancee would be excited about our marriage and about the ring! When she put it on she said it was exactly what she had hoped for and couldn't stop saying how beautiful it is. She loves to show it off! The ring size I had for my fiancee was slightly off, so we took it back to G&H to resize it, and again, they were wonderful. Callie was able to make sure that the ring was resized and ready for us to pick up the next day. I can't say enough good things about G&H. It is absolutely crazy how many negative reviews are on here based on “inflated pricing” and “how much cheaper things are on the internet”. I used the word “cheaper” as opposed to “less expensive” deliberately because what these people are describing truly are “cheaper” products that are priced accordingly. G&H prices fairly and accurately reflect the materials and craftsmanship they offer, and they have a wide variety to suit nearly every budget as well. It’s like sticker shopping for Ferraris and then broadcasting what a good deal you got on a Civic and how the Ferrari dealer tried to gouge you.

All that having been said, they have a great staff, knowledgeable friendly and personable. Their support after the sale (which really is a “get what you pay for” item) is phenomenal. I have both bought our wedding set here, as well as just today picked up a “mall kiosk” type necklace that I probably bought from a street vendor in Hawaii 20+ years ago that needed a new clasp. It didn’t matter whether I was there to spend thousands, or yesterday and today when I dropped off and picked up a $35 repair, I was treated with impeccable customer service every time I have walked through their doors. Try finding that in any other business in sales. They knew within seconds that I was there to spend very little money this time, and yet still showed the same regard toward me as they would’ve if I were looking at their most expensive items and there was potential for a very large sale or commission. What a pleasant experience as always and a pleasure to support a locally owned small business that truly values every customer large and small. You won’t find that just anywhere, and there most definitely is still a place for bricks and mortar that the internet simply can’t compete with, which is probably the biggest understatement...

This year I've been to G&H several times whether for a new jewelry purchase or for a repair. In March Amanda again helped me select the perfect birthday present for my wife. I went in thinking earrings and ended up with a beautiful emerald ring that my wife absolutely loves. Most recently I worked with Callie who helped me with the repair of my Mother's almost 62 year old diamond engagement ring. The ring needed not only a good cleaning and polishing but Callie showed me, using her loop where two side baguettes needed to be reset. Needless to say once they were done the ring looked as good as the day it was bought in 1960 and Mom was thrilled. Again, for my jewelry needs I won't go anywhere else.

Recently I worked with Amanda at G&H to come up with a beautiful piece of jewelry for my Wife to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary.
