I recently had a disappointing experience at Cracker Barrel that left me frustrated. I called ahead to order food for pick-up, and when I arrived early at 6:50, I was pleased to find my order ready. However, the excitement quickly faded when the staff informed me they were out of gravy and sausages—without even asking if I wanted a substitute. After receiving the bag, I requested a large orange juice. The staff member acknowledged my request but then vanished into the back while I watched her attend to other tables. When I inquired about my juice, she casually mentioned they were out and continued seating guests, leaving me feeling overlooked and disrespected. To add insult to injury, there was no offer of a discount for the items missing from my order, and the food I received was cold, as if it had been pre-prepared for someone else. Overall, the service was unprofessional, and the quality of the food was disappointing. This experience was the worst I've had at a Cracker Barrel, and it's concerning to see how the lack of proper training among staff can negatively affect a business's reputation. It’s clear that improvements are needed in both service and food quality.

Had brunch here today and as always the experience was nice. Hubs had the fried chicken and eggs and I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The star of the show was definitely his fried chicken. I could have closed my eyes, taste that chicken and would have thought I was at a soul food restaurant. A must try! Also, I did not know CB served beer and wine. I enjoyed the peach mimosa during my meal and it was lovely. Service was spectacular as always, and we look forward to coming back soon!

First time at Cracker Barrel…the food was good but it really had the feeling of a food court at a gift shop. Once you’re done eating, you have to wait in a 10 minute line to leave. Is it a store or is it a restaurant? Probably won’t come back. I do enjoy sitting in this rocking chair while writing this review, so…meh..maybe I will come back, if for no other reason than to hang out on the porch while writing mediocre reviews :)

The food is always delicious!! However, our server was not good. I think her name was Mercer (??). She did not introduce herself at all. She just started by asking if we wanted anything to drink. No smile, no joy, no nothing. Maybe she was having a bad day, but she didn't have to have it ooze out of her to customers. We saw her once about 10 minutes after we were eating. Then nothing. I got tired of waiting and I went to the server station where two servers were on the computers. One of them asked if I needed any help. I told her we were waiting for our server to ask for some more hot water for my lady friend's tea. She asked who she was and I said I don't know, our server didbmnt tell us. Them she asked where I was sitting and I pointed to the back room middle. She said it's probably Mercer. I said she has disappeared and we hadn't seen her for a long time. The server said she would tell Mercer about it. I went back to my table. Less than a minute later the other server that was at the computers came up to the table with the hot water. We thanked her. About 30 seconds later Mercer was walking g towards our table with a hot water pot, but approximately 6 feet from the table she saw my ladyfriend already had hot water she stopped, turned around, and walked away. We never saw her again. A few minutes later we were ready to leave. We waited to see if Mercer was coming back so we could ask for a take home container. I got tired of waiting after a few minutes and went back up to the server computer. I talked to the same server and said we were ready to leave and wanted a take home container, but Mercer hasn't come back to our table. She said she would take care of it. Less than 30 seconds later she was at the table with the container and our bill. We thanked her and told her that Mercer needs more training on how to treat customers. And how to present herself in a more personable and pleasant manner towards customers. Especially to customers who tried to be friendly and personable to her. We left her a minimum tip on the table. We have no idea if she came back to get it. But even with the bad experience we will be back. Mercer was our first bad experience in all the years we have been eating there. She really needs to step up her presentation...

I never write reviews just to talk a business down, but I have to share this experience out of concern for future patrons. We went here at around 8pm on Thursday night. Wasn't busy so was seated once they cleaned a table for us (quite a few tables were people had eaten but the bus service hadn't cleaned yet). I went here with my guy, our kids and my Dad. I ordered fried chicken tenders, mac and cheese, loaded baked potatoe and carrots. When I started eating the baked potato I didn't notice anything at first because it is literally loaded with toppings, but once I got to one side of the potatoe the color looked a little weird. So I scrapped off the sour cream and butter and the potato was literally rotten in the middle to the point it was black on the inside, and looking further it had spread to the outside of the peel and broken through. There is no possible way the kitchen missed that, it would be IMPOSSIBLE. And to still fix it up and try to hide that from the consumer is not only negligent is straight up dangerous!!!! When I told the waiter he looked at it with a grossed out face and asked if I wanted another one. I told him no I'm good!!!!! And he was relieved because he told me they get their potatoes frozen and it would take forever to remake. Fast forward to getting home and being there for an hour and my Dad called me asking if we were all okay. I said yeah why? And evidently about 30 minutes after he got home he started throwing up and it wouldn't stop... he had the country fried steak and he got food poisoning. Thank God the kid's food was okay, but we will NEVER go there again. And it's a shame because Cracker Barrel use to be an AWESOME family restaurant...

I like the food served at the Cracker Barrel restaurant. I ate many meals at the restaurant. The okra and the blueberry muffins are among our favorites.

For several weeks, some of the meals have been served with part of the meal unavailable until after waiting. The manager reported the breakfast blueberry muffin would be a thirty minute wait. Another breakfast meal was served minus the hash-brown potatoes until later. The wait for the hash-brown potatoes was about ten minutes.

One waitress took our drink order and disappeared. She may have quit or been fired. Any explanation was lacking from the manager. The drinks arrived from two other people ten minutes after ordering. The servers tried to deliver extra drinks without any concern or regard for what we wanted.

The manager obviously lacked care about our concerns and passed information about my wife and me to the other managers. The managers were forging a policy to get us out of the restaurant and stay out. My wife and I share meals to help reduce our caloric intake. Could the managers be disappointed since we reduce our meal cost by sharing? The last manager made her opinion well understood and my wife and I have given up on ever returning to the Cracker Barrel restaurant in California Maryland.

I will miss the muffins and the okra but will not let anyone discriminate and harass seniors. The Cracker Barrel restaurant management needs more training on how to meet the needs of senior customers after misbehaving.

Food quality: Very good. Management...
