I’ve been a long time customer of Texas Roadhouse. I have visited locations all over the US as we moved around the country on military orders. I visited our local location on June 2nd and received the absolute worst customer service ever. I originally ordered a 12oz filet at $34.99. It came to me horribly overcooked and it was tiny. I don’t think it could have been more than 8oz. So I sent it back and told our waitress to go ahead and bump it to a 16oz. She asked if she could take my plate and I am used to them telling me to just box it and feed it to my animals or whatever. So I said no as I was at least eating the sides until my new one came out and that I’d just box it. She said ok no problem and brought the box. No mention of paying for it.
She came back with something I had never seen before in FILET cut. This thing had at least 4-5 ounces of fat and gristle. It was also undercooked this time. Her attitude was terrible thereafter. I had her bring the manager back to ask about the quality of the new steak. He said it wasn’t unusual to see fat in a filet and walked off. At this point I’ve sat here for 90+ minutes, didn’t have anything to eat except a salad and broccoli, my family was completely done and ready to leave. So I had to box my undercooked steak to eat at home.
The bill comes and they are trying to charge us for both steaks! I ask her what is going on and she’s like well you’re taking the first one home we have to charge. Uh no ma’am you aren’t! I gave her the box and asked for it to be removed. She came back and it’s removed but not entirely. Only $31.49 of $34.99. I’m so irate at this point. This whole time I had been calm, very respectful and never rude. To receive this kind of treatment is appalling. I wrote to the company the next morning and to this day no response 11 days later and I’m out $42.99 on the second steak that I had to go home and cook which didn’t taste that great having cooked it twice. $144.94 visit for terrible service. My son picked the 24 ounce I ask if they had more they said I can order at table which I did. I ordered a 24 ounce and said to her im going to be mad if the one I get is a 20 ounce, the waitresses smiled. The waitress then came back and said the Mac and cheese for my grand kids was out my son just got over cooked French fries. I said if she comes with one more problem of them being out of something to just cancel the order and we will go to Longhorn. The food came and as expected the steak was raw and my sons much more them my steak. By far. I only got maybe a 16 or 18 ounce ribeye the bill for 2. 24 ounce streaks that were cooked wrong and kids mini cheese burgers and over cooked fries 143.27 a 28.65 dollar tip crazy I got mad as soon as I saw the big difference in the size of the steaks and being charged the same I asked for boxes and left saying the kids were being tuff to handle. It was not the waitress so I have her, her tip but will never ever go to another Texas road house again sad used to love the place and went many time in three other states but now sour taste "rip-off". First of all I do understand it’s difficult time for everyone but their customers service was worst, Especially the manager lady. They for got one of our order completely when we first picked up and we had to go back them to get it and I was completely ok with it because everyone makes mistake and we got our orders back within 5 minute also the boy who was taking order was very nice and polite. we get home and we realized part of my order was missing again so we went back again talked to manager lady but she never say sorry or anything she was more like mad at us that we would like to our food remake since it’s cold. And she just told us food was cold because we placed our order 30 minute at 3:20-3:30pm. before we pick up and we set the time at 4pm to pick up and get there 10 minute before... but she still told us food was just cold because we placed order too early and they aren’t busy at all also when she handed us our food after remake and waited for 20 min, she was still not saying sorry for that happened just kept asking us to check in the bag and make sure but I think that her job to make sure all the foods is in it this time... and not make same mistakes very disappointed how the manager handle this situation.. definitely not recommend this...
