Wow, so another review about half the dressing rooms being closed, (but stick around, that's not all, folks 🙀🤣) i asked for the manager to find out the reason for this...only to be told that it was because of convid! Not sure how allowing a lengthy line of 5 people to crawl forward at a snail's pace keeps anyone safer...? i think it's more realisticly about pure laziness and monitoring. Why are we all to be inconvenienced? That is a pitiful, insulting excuse which does not hold water. So my daughter had picked out some dresses and we made our way over to the Halloween stuff and found 3 plastic baskets the same in size, all different prices. One still had it's Dollar Tree sticker reading $1, but was marked $2.99!Call me crazy, but i thought the inconvenience of shopping at thrift stores was supposed to be outweighed by the fact that they are supposed to be cheaper and that everything is donated by the community and purportedly to help the community.... 🤣So, the other baskets, one was priced $2 and the other was ,99¢... Additionally, the little butterfly wings my youngest daughter picked out (the ones you get from the Dollar Tree for $1) were not priced. We bring all of this to the register and i'm giving the cashier props for putting up with delusional, unreasonable manager, she's ringing me up, i've got cash out, ask about the prices of Halloween baskets, point out their incongruencies in pricing and here comes the same manager with very skinny eyebrows... unfortunately, she didn't introduce herself like a professional normally would, so i didn't get a name. She had to be roused from "The Back" where maybe she was watching eyebrow tutorials or sleeping, idk. Despite my just pointing out issues with the store, not being abusive or anything, i am told i need to leave (which i was going to do, after paying) and my little girl couldn't have the dresses we wasted 45 minutes picking out! i told the manager to enjoy her little power trip and to keep them. Needless to say there'll be penguins ice skating in hell before i will donate or purchase anything from them ever again and i have been a customer of theirs since the old location by Food Lion. (i was told the wings were $3.50, as well.)A quick Google search has shown me that Goodwill has had it's share of scandalous behaviour anyway. Also, i tried to call the Jacksonville corporate office about this only to find that they only have an answering...
Read moreMy friend was accused of shoplifting because she tried on a pair of pants in the bathroom! She went in to try on pants because there are NO DRESSING ROOMS, and we live over 2 hours from this location. We were down in the area having a fun weekend of thrifting for my daughter's birthday. A lady with deep red hair, past her shoulders, about 5'5 to 5'7, didn't have on name tag or goodwill shirt (just a Halloween lanyard). I'm guessing she was a manager. When I made the comment about no dressing rooms, she got nasty and said, "I'll call the cops on you for shoplifting!" Uhm, what?! My friend legit tried on a pair of pants!!! Another coworker with her had a smug look on her face and giggled as they walked off. WWWWOOOOWWWWWW!! After the incident with what I'm guessing was the manager, I put back almost over $50 worth of items. SCREW YOU,AND YOUR NASTY ATTITUDE, AND NASTY ATTITUDE ASSOCIATE! My friend said the bathrooms were disgusting. She said she passed that associate as she was coming out of the stall, and the associate didn't even wash her hands! VOMIT!! If my daughter, who was with us, didn't have things in my cart, I would have walked out and left a cart full of items in the aisle. I would call corporate on her. However, I can't because she didn't have on a NAME TAG! A lot of the items at this location are way overpriced and filthy! I saw a vacuum that is $80 and FULL OF DIRT!!
The associate at check out was nice with small talk. She asked if I found everything, and I said yes. However, I put half of it back after one of her managers was rude and nasty to me. She didn't say anything, just put her head down and kept ringing up my things. That leads me to believe that the associate knew whom I was talking about, and they associate has had to deal with her nasty attitude.
It's obvious that she peaked in high school, and now that she has some authority, she tries to throw it around.
Goodwill corporate needs to come in and revamp their management...
Read moreThey get some nice stuff here but literally everything is extremely over priced. I have seen them sell used baby strollers with dirt in the seat marked at $150, vacuum cleaner that is full of dirt for $80, they will have a measuring cup from dollar tree that is a dollar brand new marked at $4.99. Sometimes they get some video games but as a collector it’s pointless to buy them here because they are marked at full retail price so you’re better off buying from eBay. What I don’t understand is that this store had kids clothing priced anywhere from $3.99 up to $10 but at the Goodwill in the neighboring city all boys clothing is $2.49. I’ve spoke to many people that refuse to donate to Goodwill because of this store. You Guys get all of this stuff for free, stop scamming people.
UPDATE: They have now put covers on all of the outlets in the store so you can no longer test an item to make sure it works before buying. Remember they DO NOT do refunds so if you buy a vacuum or a fan or something electronic and it does not work properly you are out of your money.
UPDATE #2: They have removed ALL of the dressing rooms so you can no longer try anything on. If you buy it and it doesn’t fit well you get 3 days to “exchange” it. No refunds This store just keeps getting...
