First I’d like to say the man that was working the desk during my stay was very nice and attentive. Anyone else, not so much. I am not one to leave reviews, this is the first one I’ve wrote. I had a roach crawl up my leg while I was laying in bed. Went down to the front desk to tell her about it. Woman couldn’t have cared less. She was just looking at me like I was crazy for being upset/shaken up about a roach crawling up my leg. She wrote down the room number, to which when I asked the man the next morning if the room was on the list to be serviced that day, it wasn’t. So she wrote the room number down to simply get me to go away. Wasn’t wanting a refund, would’ve been okay with having the room switched, or maybe just shown some concern/apology? Nothing at all was offered and nothing at all was done about it. Perfectly fine if you guys are okay with sleeping with roaches and having them crawl up your leg, but I myself am not and find it very disgusting, especially to not do anything to remediate the problem. Room gets serviced when you ask them to, it was never FULLY serviced though. If there’s trash in the trash can, especially food trash, why would you not take it out? That’s probably why you guys have roaches. If there’s only one washcloth in the bathroom, why would you not put more towels/washcloths in the bathroom when servicing the room? I understand people take washcloths/towels, and you write down the room number and amount of towels taken at the front desk to prevent this, which is wonderful, but I promise you it would not kill anyone to service the room to the standard of how it is upon first coming in, especially when all rooms aren’t even being serviced anymore. There was also a couple drops of dried blood on the bathroom floor that didn’t belong to anyone staying in the room. This is all from laziness and more importantly nastiness. Playing with peoples hard earned money. To add, this isn’t necessarily anyone’s fault but I will say that the walls are extremely thin, like thinner than anywhere I’ve ever stayed. You can hear EVERYTHING, in both directions and in the hallway. Wouldn’t...
Read moreThis year I have stayed at this hotel more than 70 nights as a business traveler. Every week this summer I traveled with my family using points to stay at other hotels in the choice rewards program. I have also stayed in competitors' family of hotels. I would say this is the best overall. The facility is very nice. There is an atmosphere of hospitality you do not find elsewhere. For instance, I bring along some frozen dinners. If I forget salt or napkins or spoons, I can always get these items here. There is no feeling like I am going to make or break the hotel by getting a fork or cup. No stinginess or grudging provision of items or service here as I have experienced elsewhere. The staff is friendly and pleasant but not familiar. I usually see Jana when I check in and Derrick when I check out. I noticed they handle even the smallest request immediately. I never use the sofa in the room but there is linen available for it and extra pillows if needed. I have to ask for the linen, usually making a trip to the front desk in every other hotel when traveling with my family. I do not eat breakfast here or other hotels so I cannot speak to that item. However it looks good and the dining area is very clean and bright. This hotel has become the standard by which I compare all others even those in a higher price range. Everything here is a 5 star. They do not miss on anything. Of course I would recommend it to you. I think you will be very comfortable. I have noticed a wide range of people here...construction workers, IT people, professionals, students and their families, tourists, firefighters, even high school and college sports teams. Overall the atmosphere here is pleasant and most people seem relaxed. The facility is very clean inside and out. It is located in a...
Read moreI booked a room after the hurricane, for Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th. I paid upfront $335.20 for both nights. I needed electricity, a decent sleep, and WiFi for work.
Unfortunately the room was sub-par, the AC didn’t get cold all afternoon and night and leaked water onto the floor, and the WiFi wasn’t working.
The morning of Saturday the 12th, I went to the front desk and requested a cancellation and refund for the second night, which they kindly agreed to. The first night was still not up to standard, but at least I wouldn’t be paying for the second. However in order to do that, they requested a sign a new receipt for the one night stay. A charge of $172.06.
My card was then charged again, for the $172 on top of the $335 on October 12th. I figured they would refund the $335 total.
It’s now five days later, and they refunded the $172 charges day or two ago… and then charged it AGAIN today. Without ever refunding the $335. So at this point, I’ve been double charged multiple times, and have paid for three days. I just tried calling the hotel, and the front desk person talked in circles and just kept saying I was refunded, as I explained I was looking at the pending third charge that took place today the 16th. I even offered to send a email with images showing the charges. She was of little help or care.
I am understanding these things can take days, but not understanding to someone claiming a refund was issued (even though I was charged again, and for the wrong charge), and who has an attitude about it. This isn’t the time to be holding almost $350 of someone’s money, when so many of us just spent hundreds pre and...
