Parents when scheduling DL test do not go beginning or end of month. Way too busy. Unorganized. Even with appointment times. The back parking lot was a mess. Way too many cars and people in test area. Not what to expect on a DL test. The attitudes of some of these instructors where not nice. However my daughter had a nice driver instructor. The DL was so bad today Aug 1st 2025 that people where hot and miserable. Going back to Testing area. Wow. Not what I expected. My son took his test at Cirtus in Crystal River. Needless to say my daughter failed her test before she even began. What is bad is I asked to see footage of the tape. My daughter practiced driving and did Suncoast drive test. They have multiple kids doing test at the same time but slammed together parked by each other. I was surprised. My daughter 17. Had her driving permit over a year. Evidently another instructor and student gets out of car and walks where my daughter backing up. She sees them and slowly started to back up. I get it pedestrians are important but they stack these kids up with testing. It's a Friday and craziness around. I just dont trust this county situation back here why I asked to see footage. Never the less the lady whom walked back by her car did not need to be so nasty to my daughter. These instructors need to be friendly and helpful at all times. Not intimidating or rude. I'm not surprised about the rudeness here because it's there even at the front door. There was a lady there not the usual sweet cop we love to see. He's wonderful. The whole experience was awhful to say the least for my daughter. She a good driver and educated. She never even got to start or finish the test and she started to cry. Not because she failed per her instructor he has to do what is right by their means. People are just not compassionate these days. To the instructor laughing and glaring at my daughter and making the comments to her instructor shame on you. You should know better. To the county and state you guys need to better set up for these kids to take the test in a parking lot where there is room. Unacceptable. Thank God we can go elsewhere to take her test. Thank you Hernando county for showing me the unprofessionalism and the nastiness that we students nor parents should have to deal with on getting DL. The kids are nervous enough. Just be aware parents. It's not always a good experience with Hernando County Tax Collector office. It's too small. If you have not experienced good bad or indifferent and have not been here before you may want to seek elsewhere for the DL test. There other places open and they have much more room and not all this nonsense going on right on top of DL testing sites. I am very disappointed to say the least that this is what we had to experience in our home town. The manager did not disagree with my comments today but stated it's state that working on getting bigger and better for the tests sites. I get it growth has come to Hernando but not the proportioned sizing of the roadways and streets to adjust to all the traffic. Let alone the nightmares others have had worse than me at the DL site and inside the office....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I was writing this review review yesterday, it would be 5 stars, my young daughter in law asked if I would take her to get her drivers license, as she had issues and it was restricted last year, she didnāt quite understand the procedure and felt more comfortable if I came along with her. The gentleman that assisted us was so helpful and extremely friendly, went above and beyond to assist us, I couldnāt than him enough!!! We did however have to return today after taking care of one more procedure. Upon arrival, we were as always greeted by the very friendly security guard, and then we were called up to the window. My daughter in law explained to the lady why she was there, but didnāt really get into as much detail as she should have, as the lady didnāt quite understand what she was saying, the she spoke to my daughter in law, and my daughter in law turned to me because she didnāt understand what she was saying, so being an advocate in the human service field all my life, I ver nicely was trying to explain the situation, and she looked at me and very rudely said āgo take a seatā as this I was a child! I very nicely asked why I had to take a seat I was only trying to help, rather than explaining it to me, she went and got her manager to explain it to me⦠I honestly havenāt a rude bone in my body, so for the life of me I couldnāt understand what was going on! When I asked the manager why they were doing this, she said because my daughter in law is over the age of 18 and can do it herself! Yet I didnāt tell them that it was my daughter in law who asked me to go because of her anxiety disorder, shame on them, however, I didnāt want to make her any more anxious than they already made her. I still donāt know why that woman reacted the way she did?? She could have simply asked me in a nice way to let my daughter in law explain it herself, she didnāt have to make so much drama and be so rude. She truly doesnāt belong there working...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never write bad reviews, but this whole thing left such a bad taste in my mouth and I think itās only right to warn others that may end up in a similar situation at some point..
I went in to register a new car today that we purchased yesterday afternoon and upon showing them the title, the lady took a moment to look at it, then proceeded to tell me my ā2ā (for February) on the date line looked like it was āwritten overā a ā1,ā and needed to āgo check in the backā to confirm.. ? I told her I definitely did not buy the car in January, my pen was just drying out so I grabbed a new one to make the 2 MORE legible.. didnāt matter because she came back a few minutes later to tell me it āindeed was written overā and I would need to either 1.) pay a late filing fee OR 2.) I could drive back to meet the seller (over an hour away) to sign an affidavit and then come back to prove the transaction actually happened on that date.. Mind you, the way they āconfirmā their fraudulent suspicions, is literally just asking another person that works there what they think it looks like.. I had proof of insurance from the same date of purchase and was registering it not even 24 hours later. So, despite me doing all of the steps correctly, and since the pen I used was ever so slightly darker on the very first digit, they insisted I was lying and my only options I had after their āprofessional observationā was to waste MORE of my time, or my money..
Absolutely ridiculous āprotocolā and overall experience after that.. honestly, just felt gross.
Moral of the story: make sure your pen is in perfect condition and write your dates with the precision of a calligraphy masterālest your handwriting be deemed suspicious. Hopefully the extra $20 will be put to good use for their giant brand new building in...
