Recently, my husband and I furnished our 3,000 square foot condo with furniture and accessories from the Hudson's Furniture store in Bradenton. Being new to the area, we were not familiar with Hudson's Furniture so decided to visit the store to check out the quality and variety of furnishings. Upon entering we were greeted by Sally Armstrong, a sales consultant, who showed us around the store. She was friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help us in any way. After discussing our need to furnish a whole house, she introduced us to Misty Garland, the interior design consultant. We were thrilled to learn that Misty would come out to the house and measure each room prior to creating the design plan for us. We walked through the entire store with Misty, Sally and also manager David Shepard pointing out furniture we liked so they could get an idea of our style. Misty took that information and created a complete house plan for us. Her presentation was extremely detailed and professional including a room by room presentation and a design board of fabric and rug samples. We were thrilled with the design which included the furniture, lamps, accessories and artwork.
When it was time for the delivery we were again impressed with the professionalism of the whole process and the Hudson’s delivery team headed by Freeman. This was not an easy or quick job. It began at 8:30AM and ended at 6:30PM on a blistering, hot, Florida summer day. Freeman and his assistant J.R. were so courteous and careful as they moved all pieces into our home. Both Sally and Misty were also there for the entire day, making sure that the each piece of furniture was placed in the right place and each picture was hung correctly. We had a couple of minor problems (uneven finish on an end table and a snag on an area rug) which customer service addressed very quickly. We can’t say enough about how pleased we were with our experience with Hudson’s and the quality of the furniture and the Bradenton store. The finished look exceeded our expectations. As a Veteran with over 28 years in service, I dealt with a lots of furniture store, but this company is the most dishonest, pathetic furniture store I ever seen. The salespersons, knowingly misrepresented and forgot to mention some facts. I made a purchase of over $3,600 hundred dollar on January 13, 2024 with a delivery date of January 18th. I decided to cancel one of the items two days later and the informed that they cannot cancelled because the item was in the truck. The only thing they can do was to give a sore credit, so I was obligated to buy other items instead of returning the money. The day of the delivery on January 18th, one item (Office desk) was damaged. After some phone calls, they send someone to inspect the item and try to fix it instead of replacing it for a new one, that was over two weeks later. I decided to visit the store to demand a new desk or my money back, and the manager apologize for the inconvenience and told me that the company policy is to send someone to inspect the item and try to fix, that was not informed to me when I PURCHASE THE DESK. The manager in the store finally requested a new desk, but they tried to deliver the new desk Feb 12, but was also damaged. That is over a month after I purchase the desk. I contacted customer service, and I am still waiting for an answer. What is pathetic is that I contacted two different salespersons at the store, including the one who sold me the furniture, and ask to speak with the store manager, and they both informed me that store manger was in a meeting and will call me after. Well, that is the longest meeting that I ever seen, I am still waiting for the call. I believe that is another policy they have in place to deceive the customers.    Read moreNo stars is my rating, Ordered a mattress set and headboard 8/13/14 before leaving the store noticed a $99.99 charge on bill it was a protection plan that I did not want was added by sales person. As of this writing (9/12/14) I still have not received the refund after numerous calls and assured that the refund had been submitted. The headboard was back ordered and after two weeks cancelled the headboard, received the refund for that. Delivery was finally setup for a window of 1:00PM to 4:00PM. At 4:15 PM a call from Hudson’s delivery saying the items were not on the truck. Called the store talked to the manager, was not happy, told them to have it delivered the next day or cancel the order. No delivery or call back. At this time I called the main Hudson’s customer service and explained what was happening. The person told me I would receive a call from the store. Never received that call. Called customer service again, a different person explained the situation, she told me there were no notes of my phone call the day before. Wife took phone (she did not tell me) call from Hudon’s when they called. They offered $50.00 off the order. So delivery was set up again. Not knowing that my wife had called I called the store and was talking with the manager, asked him to waive the shipping charges and we would do the deal. He said fine we do not charge shipping on bedding. Looking at my bill after the initial phone call had ended, a $49.00 shipping charge was there. Called back and the charge is to be refunded (Hopefully it does not take a month). Not sure why the shipping charge was not caught by someone in the store. Delivery has been setup again.
