Oh my goodness is the best way to start this one! Wow! This food was delicious and alot of it. I do want to say their spices are well..spicey. So heres my review of Mr. & Mrs Crab - Brandenton Warning on menu spices are spicey. Even the mild was hot. When we go here again I would likely ask for light season cause it is dumped on the boils heavy. APPETIZERS Calamari Delicious!! Dipping sauce is tasty!! Fried pickles would not recommend. Were hard. MAIN COURSE Two of their biggest boils + added 2 lobster tails butter garlic only. 18.95 each tail if ordered with your main vs 24 each otherwise. KIDS MEALS Wings and tenders with mac and cheese sides. Our daughter did not like the tenders. Seemed frozen and microwaved. TIPS For 2 people add another thing of crab legs and lobster tail to one big boil. It was so much we ate it the whole day & night the following day an still wound up throwing away prob 3lbs of food (potatoes, clams, oysters, corn, steamers). Which is awful to have to do but we were leaving to drive home 17.5 hours so couldnt take it with us. SERVER - the only negative. The server was not great however I think it was mostly cause she was also having to run the bar as well had several other tables an perhaps tired? First she charged us full price for the lobsters which I had to ask to be corrected. Then would not take off the pickles that we did not eat and complained about being hard. Basically had to demand them be removed. Had I not looked an just paid the tab it would have been over 25 dollars more than it should've been. She claimed this was due to the register. I did not leave a 15-25% tip because of this like we normally do anywhere we go an upon leaving my son had to run back in to ensure we hadn't left things on the table to which he heard her at our table slamming down the receipt and saying in a very loud tone "I know he didn't leave me such a small tip on that amount" so guessing by her attitude was the best decision. Im not tipping some one a huge tip just cause my bill is high when we only see the waiter two or three times in the 2 hours we were there. Both kids drinks empty forever. Had to demand something be removed that was left untouched other than the 1 each person tried. Over charged for each add on. Unacceptable. I was a server for several years you must work for a nice tip. OVERALL I would and do plan on visiting here again many more times to come because the food was insanely delicious!! Shout out...
Read moreI would give this place negative stars if it was possible. We visited on our vacation 8/13/2022 for dinner. The reviews appeared to be mostly positive, so we decided to give it a shot. It is similar to other restaurants where we live and have had great luck with the food. The initial staff was courteous and sat us quickly and took our drink orders. We started with the calamari which unfortunately was undercooked, but I figure that sometimes everyone can have a bad day/dish. When the food order came out, my wife had the Lobster Bisque. She took a couple of bites and slid it away. I tasted it as well and it tasted like water and flour with a little lobster flavor. Obviously the roux was not cooked out properly. We advised the staff when she asked how everything was that it was undercooked and tasted like flour and were told that it was the restaurants policy "not to take returns or refunds" on food when customers found it not to their liking. We asked to see a manager, and after a few additional reminders, a manager finally came and offered to take off $2-$5 from the meal. They flat stated that they would not remove the soup from the bill. After speaking to her, another manager came and told us that the bisque was made that way per the restaurants recipe and that it was expected to taste like that. We told him that it was obviously undercooked and he reiterated that it was per the recipe and that he could not and would not remove it from the bill. He told us that the policy was in place because if they agreed to remove items from the bill that customers didn't like, they would be removing a lot of items. Why wouldn't you just COOK THE FOOD right to begin with?? In all of my time, I've never been to a restaurant that claims to want a good customer experience and then turn around and say "sorry our food isn't good, but we won't refund any portion, it's our policy". Unbelievable. I'm shocked that they have as many positive reviews as they do if that is how they treat guests. Aside from the condiments coming in plastic to-go cups and having to eat with plastic eating ware, the whole experience reeked of poor food, and even worse customer service. If you want seafood, or a spicy boil, look elsewhere where they'll charge you for food you actually...
Read moreThis place is amazing! I enjoyed every moment while I was there! I have heard of this place and have one near me but because I went on a day trip to Bradenton I decided to go here for lunch. We went around 1:00 and there were three parties. I was expecting it to be very busy but it wasn't. I have been wanting to come here for a while now and decided today was the day. Am I glad it was. I took pictures with Mr. And Mrs. Crab. They are so cute! Then we went in. They have a little section with souvenirs that you can get. The lady at the desk was nice and asked if we had any more people coming we replied "No". Then the lady took us to our booth. When I got to the booth I realized that the table was fixated with some nice crabby paper. There was a paper towel roll and a big bucket. I was very excited so I got pictures of me with the crab in front of the wall. When we were seated very quickly the waitress asked what we wanted to drink. I didn't want anything but water. My pal's got Diet Coke. I ordered the fried shrimp from the something fried section of the menu. I got regular french fries. My pal's both got fish and chips. It came out very quickly! Only about 10-15 minutes. Then once we got all our food and started eating I was very surprised on the whole entire meal. How could this have been so good. Wowie. I give my compliments to the chef! The culinary team must be working magic back there. I absolutely loved it. The shrimp had a nice crunch not just from the fried batter that was not greasy and perfectly seasoned. It was beautiful and nice. The French fries were out of the town! They tasted familiar but they had a nice taste. It definitely enjoyed every bite! They brought out my pal some refills on his coke. Even offered him one to go. When our total came out I was surprised on how cheap it was even though I knew how much the meal was. Because we spent $45 I was able to ask my server for a free notebook...
