So, we were in town and I wanted to take my husband to a good Mexican restaurant. I picked Mr. Tequila, I have been there before and was ready to enjoy a good restaurant. We ordered cheese queso fundido. It was supposed to have pico de Gallo ( so the menu said ). We get it and all that is in it is cheese and meat. My husband called the waiter over, the waiter that it only comes with meat in it. “No”, we said and showed him the menu. He said that there was a misprint on the menu but he would bring a dish of pico for us ( great ). Then the waiter took our order. My husband ordered a fried chimichanga. Food was brought, looked good but as my husband started eating he realized that the chimichanga was not fried at all. When the waiter came past my husband politely told the food was great but it wasn’t fried as he requested . The waiter apologized but made no attempt to correct the problem. My husband decided not to cause fuss so he just continued eating his plate. Toward the very end of his meal he felt something plastic in his mouth. Pulled it out and found it to be a plastic tie. When we finally called the waiter over to the table all he could do was apologize. Well ,we waited for the bill, thinking that at the very least he would get his meal taken care of by the manager. Not manager came. Soon the waiter came with our bill. My husband looked at it and asked the waiter if he had talked to the manager about the plastic and the waiter replied yes but he was told to go ahead and charge us for the meal. My husband went to the manager who basically called my husband a liar, told him there was not way the plastic could have been in the food and that he would take only $3.00 off his meal. My husband was told to calm down . We spent $72 For our meal and drinks. To be called a liar is an insult, we were not looking for the whole dinner to be comped but when an Entree has foreign matter in it, the right thing to do is to at least is not to charge the customer for it. Read moreTLDR: First time charged through grubhub and then charged at pickup. No attempt to fix the problem when I contacted the establishment had to contact grubhub. Second time I found a piece of Brillo pad(see image) in my food and was told they wanted to refund me to do the right thing. Never refunded. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Terrible Customer service. Ordered online(they use grubhub) paid using my account then when my wife arrived they told her it was not paid for. I only noticed because i looked at our statement. When I went to the Restaurant i was told i had to come back when the right manager was there. I understand that not everyone does accounting but at least offer to take my information and contact me. The manager was extremely rude and argumentative. Food was good but i refuse to give money to an establishment that tries to double charge and not accept responsibility for their error.
UPDATE: I gave this establishment another chance as in my original post i stated that I enjoyed the food. I believe that places deserve a chance to redeem themselves and should not be shunned for one employees error. I ordered again and again I enjoyed the food. However, when I was almost done with my food I found a piece of Brillo Pad in my mouth. As a courtesy I contacted the email provided to me in their response to my original post. They apologized and asked what time my order was as they wanted to refund me as a courtesy for the second time they've had problems. I found this to be fair and was going to update my review as such that the company accepted responsibility. However, after sending them the actual screenshot of my purchase I never received a refund. Why would you even go through the hassle of responding to an email saying you want to do the right thing if you have no intentions of doing so. This only made things worse. Read moreI have been coming to this place for the past 10 years I recommended it tonight to go with a friend who had never been there before we always like to try new places for taco Tuesday and I remembered this place being wonderful unfortunately our server was ignoring us and my friend also felt discriminated against for multiple times she had requested the same items as me and it didn't happen for her but it did for me as well as we received queso that came out cold twice after she had told us that she warmed it up for 30 seconds. After a day of work we just really wanted to enjoy some tacos and margaritas but unfortunately by the end of the night we weren't even told to have a good night and we had to ask for a to-go container after she had already collected the money and unfortunately when we asked for chips to go with the queso since we never received any they told us that we were going to be charged and that we only got two rounds of chips for the salsa that comes with the meal but the queso doesn't I understand if there's the language barrier but it just felt like with seeing our server roll her eyes every time we had asked for something we felt discriminated or ignored I get it everybody has a hard day but I've also worked in the industry for many years and I wasn't even told thank you or have a good night I hate to leave a poor review because I've gone to this place for many of years but to have such terrible service and then when asking management just for a bag of chips to go with our cold queso since we just wanted to take it home they said they would have to charge so I guess I won't be returning so much for...
