Johnston Jewelers — Attraction in Seminole

i went to them for a repair for the third time to reattach numbers back on my Ret. LEO Shield. Each time the solder or weld didnt hold but even with a guarantee on their workmanship I still had to pay for each repair. So even after last repair last month numbers fell off again ok so last week i spoke to a young man and he explained to me exactly what and why it was happening and that odds are it might happen again but he will repair it jnder warranty at no charge due to it still being within time and we agreed that if it broke again i would go to place he recommend for new one or repairs ok I agreed to that. So today i go to pick up item and they try to charge me $15.00 so I was ready to question the charge when the female sales clerks cut me off and went to get jeweler. Well he stormed out of back and then proceeded in front of 3 other customers to tell and scream at me quote " So dont bother to pay just take your stuff and leave and never step foot in store ever again. And i was totally stunned and apaulled The jeweler totally disrespected belittled and humiliated and embarrased me as uf i did something wrong or tried to get something for free. He didnt even try to explain or better yet listen to me at all. To me in my opinion it seemed more. Like a racist rant due to me being an hispanic man i guees he feels that I was not worthy of professional respestful courteous treatment. I had to remind him 1st I am a customer and 2 he should explain to me what was all his anger and hatred towards me about. I am not a jeweler, metal worker or black smith i have no knowledge of jewelry repair. So I gave no idea of what he was screaming or ranting about. All I know us that his verbal outburst and extreme physically angry demeanor and the disrespectful way he spoke to me. In front of other patrons was unjust unfaur unwarranted unappreciated and inexcusable. And i dont recommend this place to any Ret. LEO. Or anybody at all. Cause if he can mistreat me without any provocation at all imagine to me its was pure anger hatred over what $15.00 which ibstill offered to pay it seems like they needed that money more than I did. I love Johnston Jewelers, and they are my go-to store. When I got engaged in 2020, I needed somewhere trustworthy where I could have my ring resized. My ring is a family heirloom, so my now husband wanted to make sure it was in good hands. A coworker of mine recommended Johnston’s. They are so welcoming and knowledgeable. They’ve been of assistance when I lost a diamond in my wedding band. They repaired it in a couple of days. When I lost that diamond, I became very worried and wanted my engagement ring checked for peace of mind. I went to a “chain” store at first because it was closer to my house. They wanted to charge me over $1000, and they told me all the prongs were damaged and that the platinum band needed redone to prevent breakage. I went to Johnston’s the next day, where they assured me my ring was fine. I go every couple of months to have them check it. This last time, they noticed that a few of the side stones were loose. They quickly tightened them at no charge for me on the spot. They are always friendly and customer service focused. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs any jewelry serviced. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel like family. We first discovered Johnston Jewelers when we needed a repair on a ten year-old wedding set that lost a few diamonds. We found the price very reasonable and quality wonderful. A few weeks later, the band ( purchased elsewhere) threw another, different diamond. Having had it with this sub par ring from elsewhere, we went back to Johnston to see what we could do to get something better quality, more resilient and still dainty and matching to my wife’s other ring. Dee Dee suggested a channel setting and took time to show me examples, and explain the process- including using our current ring’s stones and trading in the gold to help offset costs on a custom setting. A week later- the ring was done and my wife and I are EXTREMELY pleased! It not only matches her other ring’s size and scale, it’s setting is ‘sturdy’ enough she can wear it daily with no fear!
