First time coming my kid loved it, but a gas leak happened.
We drove an hour to meet a friend and her kid here as a middle point for the kids to play, 10 minutes in, fire trucks and many firemen came in, no one said a word to any guests, I overheard there being a gas leak..
After I began to smell it, and while watching firefighters climb on the play equipment to get to the ceiling I wrangled the kids and we began to exit
I asked for a refund and was refused, they said the gas leak wasn't a big deal, I disagreed as did many other parents who were also leaving, I managed to get the girl behind the counter to agree to send me a voucher to come back another day free, I accepted that (something better than nothing, and my kid was having fun before the gas leak)
She took my phone number and a day later, haven't received anything.
More importantly tho, why weren't customers told ? They had time to call and wait for the fire department but it wasn't a good idea to tell customers ? I arrived just 10 minutes before. Also didn't like that the fire dept said nothing to no one, and began looking for the leak in a ceiling pipe all while kids played around them.
Overall bad experience, if it really a non emergency and not an issue it would have been better to let parents know rather than say nothing and confuse us all, but the smell of gas told a different story to me.
Edit*
I really should have looked better into the plethora of bad reviews here on Google, it seems when you go in, have no issues and don't interact with staff things are great, but they don't handle issues well, seems like a business that is a great idea but the people here don't know customer service or customer interaction at all, every review that's a bad review gets a response from the owner ? Manager ? And there's always an excuse.
Also another reviewer mentioned lack of staff keeping track of kids, absolutely this was my experience, I was only there a short time and I was with 2 other adults so we were tracking our own kids, but staff was not doing the same, there is no stamped hands or some way to make sure a child is going out with their parent or guardian, everyone gets the same wrist band and the front register staff can't possibly watch kids while helping incoming customers and often we're doing other things that would prevent doing so anyway.
The flaw isn't the design of the place or idea both are great the kids were having a blast, but the business side of it is not operating well.
Edit*
Before they respond lmao, I repeat no one was notified about the situation, fire dept was climbing on the equipment WITH the kids, I noticed they have the audacity to reply to another review with a bald faced lie saying they notified parents, I'll never go here and recommend no other parent brings their child to this place. They clearly do NOT care for their customers or the children and that's a fact when they are willing to reply to reviews with bald faced lies, of which I have screenshots and I'll go ahead and contact the fire dept in that area and confirm with the fire fighters the kids were climbing along side them
If I get a response that lies about this from the owners expect the screenshots and the fire fighters side of things to both be...
Read moreEdit: after posting my original review, the manager reached out to me and asked about the party and apologized for the miscommunication. He also provided me with two vouchers for free play at Kidz Jungle Land. This doesnât correct my sonâs birthday but it helps make up for the mistakes that were made.
I had my sonâs 2nd birthday here, tonight at White Marsh. I bought a room for a 2 hour time slot. Immediately after paying the deposit online, I was sent a link for pre registration. I was told to send this link to party guests to save time. All of my guests filled out the link for themselves and their babies. And every single one of them were told they werenât found in âthe systemâ and to re-register. This was frustrating to parents with little kids but not the end of the world (or the end of our problems)!
Second, we get there at 5:00 for a 5:15 party that we are hosting. We are greeted by staff and we double checked with them about the party to make sure everything was good. Now when you plan the party online you pay the $150 deposit up front and upon arrival, you pay the remaining balance. We bought extra juice boxes for all of the kids (which I now realize we never actually received. Because the package does in fact include juice for the party. We only got one juice per child when I paid extra for 2 boxes per child) I paid this remaining balance as soon as I checked myself and my family in. The balance was $260. Iâm SO GLAD that I kept my receipt because 30 minutes later, I had the host/manager come up to me during the party and ask if I paid yet, because they canât order the included pizzas (which just come from dominos, by the way) until I pay the balance. I told her yes I paid. She then said âI canât find it in the system where you paid and my manager canât get pizzas going until you payâ. I showed her the receipt for my payment and she had to take it away to show her âmanagerâ. 5 minutes later she came back and gave me the receipt, and asked if we needed anything else.
It was 6:30, kids were hungry. I then asked when pizza would be ready and she said âwe have to order it and it has to come, maybe 15 minutes). 6:45 pizza was finally served. I was shocked and let down to find out it is just dominos. You pay $10 extra for more pizza (or close to that). The contract states you can bring your own food as well. I totally wouldâve saved myself the hassle and brought it myself had I known this. I probably couldâve gotten it cheaper and faster. We had 10 kids and their parents. 2 medium pizzas fed the kids and SOME parents. Bring extra if your party is any bigger.
We get to eat, sing happy birthday and have cake before the staff brought in a cart and trash bags at 7:00. Their way of kicking us out. After they were 30 minutes late bringing pizza. We had 15 minutes to finish the party and wrap it up. This was stated prior to the party so this isnât a complaint, it is just a warning to anyone planning to hold a party here.
PROS: This facility is very clean and staff are friendly when you come for an everyday play slot. Honestly for 2 hours and admission for up to 10 kids this was very affordable. But I wouldnât recommend this place for parties. They canât get their sh*t together between the workers and...
Read moreA great place to bring your kids for a birthday party or just to escape the house and have fun indoors (in case it's raining or cold to be at an outside playground). Their prices are also decent. However, the main reason I'm giving it a 3-star is due to their policies and inconsistencies in enforcing them, and their customer service could improve a bit.
One of their main policies (all written on a big sign posted on the wall) states that socks must be worn "in the play areas". However, the fact is that the staff requires everyone to wear socks outside of the play areas as well, such as the area that leads to the different play areas and party rooms (where most adults hang around). The inconsistencies are found when during a visit it is fine for adults not have to wear socks outside the play areas (again, party room and right outside in the common area) and during another visit, it is required. I believe that all kids who want to play in the play areas should be required to wear grip socks only, and everyone else who enters the common areas (to include party rooms) should be required no shoes (either with or without socks). The person usually standing by the swing doors should always remind adults entering the common area that if they intend to enter the play areas they will need to wear socks (grip or not).
I have been here several times but the first non-party visit could have gone smoother if their concept had been explained (not all indoor playgrounds have the same) when you intentionally mention that it is your first time there. Instead, I had to ask basic questions such as (in order): how much does it cost to bring in one toddler, is there a time limit or is it unlimited, do you have any other colored socks (blue was provided for a little girl; and there were other colors), is the common area seating located outside each party rooms reserved for those rooms, do adults need to wear socks in the common areas just outside...
