Let me preface this by saying this rating / review is solely for this instance alone .
In all the years I have been a fan of TGI Fridays, there has been very few times, a total of approximately four, where my food or service has been subpar. I enjoy the offerings on the menu, the drinks/cocktails, though mediocre, are plausible, and with regard to this particular location the waiters and waitresses are friendly and accommodating.
On this particular day, I ordered my usual cheeseburger with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, no pickles, mayo on the side, and fries. The difference here is my placing the order online. At least the manager suggests this may have been the reason for the mix-up of my order .
When placing the order, the fries are standard and come with the burger. I also want it mac and cheese as a side, and it was listed with other sides along with a price. When I clicked to include the mac and cheese, all looks fine. When I removed the check to include American cheese, I searched for the cheddar selection, but there was none. However, below that you saw cheddar, but as a double helping. I selected this then made a note I only want it cheddar cheese instead of American. When I got to the restaurant and picked up my order. I did not think to look it over before leaving. I mean, I have been coming here for quite some time. I have also ordered online. When I had the time to eat my burger, I noticed it wasn't at all what I asked for. This was a bacon cheeseburger. My fries were missing.
I called the restaurant to ask about this error. That's when the manager suggested the problem may have been placing the order online. He told me there was really no place to choose cheddar as an option for my burger. The design of the website is to simplify the ordering process, but at the same time that they want it to make it so simple you were corralled into only ordering specific things depending on the burger chosen. He then told me in the future I should continue to order over the phone. He should be commended for this honesty and professionalism. I will definitely take his advice.
