My kids are 9 & 11 and they enjoyed it here for the most part, but we won’t be returning. Some of the games are not explained very well. It’s loud in some of the rooms and difficult to hear the instructions. Also, the prizes are pointless. You basically are making people pay to advertise for you. Kids aren’t interested in these prizes. As a parent, I don’t even want a prize but I can’t give my points to my kids. We were not told that we could save our points for a future visit until I asked what on earth people do with 4 keychains after we redeemed our prizes. The whole thing where you get kicked out of the room even if you’ve just entered and only played one round is a little insane. The number of unsupervised kids pulling on the doors and banging on the doors while you’re trying to play is also annoying. Overall, it was a fun experience, but not one worth repeating, even for $25.
ETA: One of my sons has ADHD and the amount of noise was disturbing to him, definitely not sensory friendly. He also had a hard time paying attention to reading the instructions when trying to decide which games he wanted to play. Reading other reviews, there is apparently a place to get water, which we also...
Read moreMy son (8 yo) and I stumbled across Activate while browsing at the Avenue today (I had seen an ad for it but had not searched for its location yet). A member of the team, Tiloy, greeted us and when I asked for information he gave us a tour of the facility. You purchase play time in 75 minute blocks but can add on 15 minutes blocks past that if you want to continue playing. You create a player profile and wear a wristband that allows you to check in to the various game rooms, which you only play with the members of your selected party. The wristband tracks your points and wins, which you can accumulate over time. Locker rental for your belongings is included with your play purchase. We decided to play and had a great time! As it was midday on a Friday we never waited for a game room and wore ourselves out in the 75 minutes.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful; however, both Tiloy and Jordan went above and beyond to make sure all of my questions were answered, all of our needs were met, and that we were having fun! We will definitely be back to...
Read moreIt's a workout! The reception space as you walk in is nice and bright, depending on your arrival time, there may be a a wait. The staff was helpful and kind. We waited about 45 mins.; we walked around the Avenue as we waited. The facility was fun. It is physical so tread carefully if you aren't a physical person; its not Dave & Busters!. You can choose which activities to take part in, they have the traditional hoop game as well as target shooting. Then there are other more physical games. I think with some of the games the instruction could be clearer. One group or person goes into the rooms at a time. You can't stay in a room long so the wait time isn't long at all. You utilize a wrist band to enter the rooms. We did a few rooms on repeat because there were rooms that we weren't interested in. We played for 75 mins for 60.00. 75 min was too much time for us, we easily could have settled for 30 - 45 mins. It's dark inside and there is a locker for your belongings if need be. I enjoyed...
