While I’ve been to this supermarket many times, today was my first time trying their food. The Mexican tamales were good but halfway through I bit into several pieces of bone. The black rice (arroz morro) tasted burnt as if the rice in the bottom of the pot had burned and instead of tossing the rice they served it to the customers. The roasted pork (pernil), while it was very tender and juicy, it was severely under seasoned and lacked the flavor pernil is traditionally supposed to have. It’s very hard to mess up pernil but they did. The goat (chivo) was melt in your mouth tender, but again, the flavor was off as in…not cleaned or marinated long enough. And then the vegetable rice, another dish that’s usually has a beautiful flavor tasted like white rice dyed yellow with vegetables tossed in. I have 1 question, do the people preparing the food TASTE the food?
Disappointed is an understatement! And then while checking out, the girl did not say hello and after paying $35 for 3 lacking dishes I thanked her and she ignored me and didn’t even say goodbye. I have no idea how the restaurant section of this market stays open. 5 bites into my dish and my son and I can’t finish it because it’s actually disgusting. My son also mentioned that Publix serves better pork. We will not...
Read moreSo let's start by saying it is a pretty big place with many things happening in it. It is a supermarket with all the latin ingredients you can think of. It is a restaurant with a large selection of great food. I have yet to try all of it but I am trying. Also of few other things that I have not tried yet like the hair salon. But if and when I do I will update. Ok so let me tell you why I gave it only 3 stars. The service at the restaurant section is great. They are very friendly and helpful. They are also quick and even take time to explain what things are if you need it. The market side, well it's a supermarket like any other so not much there. Where I had and am still having trouble with is commination with management and or the owner. I have been trying to get ahold of someone the help me with placing a very large order. I have left multiple messages via phone and even went in person a couple of times and left messages with them. Still not even a callback. I am still waiting but nothing. If not for that they would have gotten a better rating. Again the...
Read moreI was very disappointed in their catering for our party. The pickup date was on March 8th and we paid in advance. We bought a large steak with onions & peppers, a large arroz (rice) con gandules & 7 packs of tortillas. Total cost $203.93. The steak had a weird color & was not cooked all the way through. That cost $130 alone. You would think for that price they would have at least bothered to cook it all the way. The tortillas were hard. The only good thing was the rice. We ended up not using the steak because of this and had to buy 200 pieces of Publix fried chicken along with a large sandwich platter and many sides to feed all our guests. I'm so thankful that Publix was able to come to the rescue at the last minute. The food at Latinos ONLY tastes good IF you buy individual servings and ONLY if you come early in the day, NOT if you buy their catering in bulk. They do not know how to cook large amounts of food properly. We will NOT be ordering food from here again! So...
