I live in WSV up the road and this our go to store. But beyond being convenient the secret to the store is their butcher! You can call ahead and request special cuts of meats and they will be ready when you get there. I call ahead for Boston Butt Pork for green chilli stew and he has it cubed and packaged perfectly. FYI Boston Butt is not from the butt and is the most flavorful and tender part for cooking stews and roasts. This I learned from the great folks at M&W! Friendly, familiar staff who always go above and beyond to help you find what you need. They remember people, and have long standing relationships with the patrons. Several time I've gone down for something and had the clerk ask how my other family members are doing who didn't join me. It is a pleasant place to shop. As for the worry about east end snobbery, mentioned in another post, I would think it just as likely that a clerk would hope that snobby patrons are the ones that they hope done return.
