Sadly, aother dissapointing experience at The Griddle, this past Saturday. We arrived at 11:15a and got to sit on the patio which was great (table 84/2) :) It "only" took them about 10 minutes to get us menus and water, but took another 15 minutes for Jonah (our server) to acknowledge us and take our order. Finally, after another 22 mintes we received our orders (at 12:02) but two of the three of us didn't have silverware. Our orders were not difficult (1 French Toast and 2 Eggs Bene) so the wait time was a bit unreasonable. With regard to our orders, French Toast was good, 1 of the 2 Eggs Bene was fine (but ham was overcooked and dry). However, my Eggs Bene (which I had requested that the eggs be poached medium) was, 85%, missing one of the whites (as shown in the picture) and my eggs were poached well over medium and on there way to hard....gross!! Additionally, my ham was also overcooked and dry!!! Unless they have a Line person whose job it is to check orders and plates to make sure everything is perfect before the server picks it up, then the responsibility falls squarely on the server!! I worked in 5-Star restaurants for over 30-years and this just does not fly in this business. I'm not saying that The Griddle is supposed to be a 5-Star experience, but minimal expectations (i.e. getting what you order) should be met. I did not send my order back because #1-Jonah never came back to check on how everything was, and #2- I didn't want to risk waiting another 22+minutes to have my order redone. Of my five visits to The Griddle, four have been a dissapointment and specifically with regard to the service, or lack thereof. That said, I feel that the employees here a not being properly trained, if they are being trained at all and that is the reason? As for my friends and I.....thinking we will be looking for a better place to share breakfast.

I'm in the parking lot sitting in my vehicle trying to breath in and out properly because of how much I ate. This has hands down been the best breakfast diner visit I've ever had in Boise. 👏 I walked in and Sienna greeted me. I chose to sit at the bar because there were only two tables left and I didn't want to hog a table of four. This place was packed. I was patient though since I am here for a while. Daniel was my server and greeted me right away. Lexi also came over and brewed 3 shots to down with me and Daniel. Absolute surprise, this was the first time I took group shots of espresso! Now they totally knocked my expectations out. Lexi knows how to pull a really good shot! The fact that The Griddle uses a special blend of Dawson Taylor beans for their restaurant is a big plus, as they have such good flavor! The shot given to me was strong but the crema was so delightful. Next up, Daniel had to help me order. I was stuck between the Country Fried Steak and a benedict, I can't remember the name. They suggested I tried the one on special which I also forgot the name of, but either way it was incredible! I finished it so fast because I was starving. Daniel made me an amazing vanilla latte. It was sweet but the flavor of the shot was insanely bold. He knows how to pull a shot too and he wants to make it clear that the bean rules the latte. The crema was very bold, and that's what struck me hard. I really enjoyed speaking with everyone though and all the workers here were outgoing. I am so happy to see young staff here that works very well in a fast paced situation, you don't see that a lot anymore. I will be back for two more shots made by Daniel and Lexi. Thank you Griddle for an amazing experience!

Just like any good breakfast place in Boise there will be a wait. I liked that there is actually somewhere to wait at the griddle (plenty of outdoor seating) and good coffee available for the wait. I liked the ambience. It reminded me of the casual vibe I like in many places in Portland. Yes, it's loud. I'm hard pressed to think of any good brunch in Boise that isn't loud during peak hours. You can eat outside if you need quieter seating. Our server and hostess were slammed and still took the time to be helpful and kind. I would definitely eat there again. My only criticism is that my hash browns were soggy (I think it was because my order was forgot about initially and they tried to make it quickly) and that one of the servers/manager was so mean to the other staff members it made our table uncomfortable.

I wish ratings were separated by sure. Meridian location is amazing. Food, service, staff is amazing. The one on Parkcentre consistently is lower than 0 starts. Before the closures, frequently was ignored by just about everyone except the busser who offered to bring water on that visit. Wait staff seemed put upon to take order, seemed unwilling to bring food from the window to my distant location at the bar, staff walk by without making eye contact or greeting in case I wanted water which is why I was trying to get their attention because the server for my location want around.

Then there is today. Brother ordered takeout due to the current isolation we have. He told her I was on my way. Keep that phrase in mind. I phoned when I arrived per instructions and was told they be right out in a moment with my good. 20 minutes later, I called again and was told they be right out in a minute. I left 5 minutes later. My brother told me to go back because good was ready. I went back. I was told that it took so long because my brother said I was on the way, they had a lot of orders (including a walk up that ordered on the patio whose food was being delivered the same time mine was), and it takes a while for good to be prepared. All this said with a nice too if the eyes. So good was just prepared and a less than a 5 minute drive it was cold. Oh and there was no offer of comp or anything.

Surprisingly, I am a patient person.

Recommendation - go to Meridian location. Close the...
