Nail Envy Spa — Attraction in Port Charlotte

First, I really wanted to love this place. I do not live in the area and I traveled to this establishment solely based on the reviews. I called on the evening of 04/26 to ask if it was best I make an appointment or if walk-in service is best. I was advised that it's best to make an appointment if I wanted to be seen in a timely manner. I made an appointment for 1:30 PM on 04/27. I received a text reminder from them right away about the appointment.

I arrived at 1:10 PM, was greeted by a gentleman asking what services I would like. I advised that I have an appointment for 1:30 for a full set and a polish change. He said okay. I sat and waited. Around 1:35 I approached the counter to find out what was the hold up with my service. I was advised by the young man that I was mistaken, my appointment was for 2 PM. I showed him the text message mentioned above and all he said was "somebody must have changed it, sorry."

The whole time I was sitting, the man who originally greeted me kept asking me to pick a color. I told him I wasn't quite sure what color I wanted and I would wait until I was actually getting service prior to choosing. I felt rushed. Not good in a service industry.

A short time later, the same young man came to collect me to remove the polish from my toes. He was very kind and apologetic about the delay, but kept justifying it by stating "we are short handed today." After the polish was removed, I decided on the colors I wanted to used on my nails and told the young man. He went to collect them and it took another 15 minutes for someone to return to paint my nails. Once my toenails were painted, another 10 minutes passed before a woman told me to sit at her station because she will do my nails.

My issues are as follows: I arrive on time, I feel that if my service wasn't going to start on time, it should have been communicated to me. No one said anything. It seems that they knew all of the customers by name who visited the shop yet no one who worked on me bothered to introduce themselves. There were a total of 3 people. No one asked my name either. It took 2 hours and 50 minutes to complete a service that usually takes an hour to an hour and a half max. No one apologize for the time I spent being passed from person to person, but a woman who arrived after me was finished before me.

I drove quite a distance to patronize this establishment and I am very disappointed. Yes, my nails were done and they are very pretty, but the experience leaves much to be desired. I have visited Nail Envy several times in 2021 and 22. A recent visit showed a lack of perfection, but today's visit was the topper! I went in simply to get my nails done, both my toes and fingers, simply wanted them polished. No gels, no tips, just polish. Linzy's husband did my toe nails and he did a nice job. Considering the fact that I messed up two toe nails during drying time, he forgivingly fixed them immediately. So, while sitting in the Pedi chair waiting for my toe nails to dry, Linzy drags a stool over and throws a hand towel across the armrest of the chair and proceeds to paint my fingernails right there! Which I found very odd. She clearly was NOT happy that I had messed up my toes so she wasn't about to have me move to a nail techs table and chance messing them up again. THAT, was VERY obvious. I was embarrassed and felt dissed. Anyway, I have never been treated this way and felt punished for messing up two of my toes :/ She QUICKLY (speedily) polished my fingernails (2-3 minutes MAYBE) then told me to just stay in place while they dry. This all began at 3:45 this afternoon and I never left their establishment until almost 5pm. While doing dishes AT 11:30 TONIGHT I see that several my nails all destroyed!!! THEY NEVER DID DRY!!!! I was careful all evening NOT to mess them up. I mean heck, I drove from N Port to Port Charlotte and PAID for this service BECAUSE I have a doctors appointment tomorrow! I spent time and money PLUS a tip and now I have to go somewhere else or repolish them myself. I am beyond disappointed. IMO, Linzy just doesn't have good customer service skills AT ALL and does not show appreciation for some of her clients. Hubby on the other hand is very friendly, patient, and shows that he cares about the clients and his work. I won't be back....
