North Plaza Shopping Center — Attraction in Carney

Erm parking lot more like bird parking lot! There is always a large spot in this lot with no cars but hundreds and hundreds of birds (the spot is on the left if you are walking out of the YMCA). There are so many birds. I am not over exaggerating. There. Are. So. Many. Birds. Most of the time they are seagulls, which has never made any goddamn sense since no where else around here has a seagull habitat but I swear to god if you come to the left side of this parking lot you’ll think you’re on a nature reserve. There are literally so many birds. They cover the ground like a sheet. They move as one super organism, whenever one is disturbed it sends ripples through the whole colony. I have been going to this shopping center for 5 years and I am not kidding that the amount of birds has increased over time.

Sad to see the shopping center going down hill. Safeways service is unacceptable but will likely prohibit any decent grocery stores from going into other retail spaces. Unfortunately there are limited grocery options in the overall area outside of "budget" shops with just the basics, and sadly Safeway is the best hope at finding certain items before having to drive across town. Five Guys, El Salto, and Wokenfus are all great. Would be nice to see the former K-Mart get gutted and draw in a business or businesses that are a little more up scale than Ross, a uniform store, and laundromat. Would love a homesense! Something along the lines of BJs/Costco/Sams would be a game changer. My 5 star rating for North Plaza is based on my customer service experience while insidethe business ALL ABOUT MUSIC. I rarely encounter an employee or business owner who is genuinely passionate about the service(s) they offer. I was given a tour of All About Music's facility and was thoroughly convinced that anyone, from child to adult, who takes their instrumental or vocal classes as an individual or group will be enriched beyond their expectations personally and professionally.
