đđ Very disappointed. I originally rated this store 5/5. I had to change my rating to 1/5 today due to a serious issue. I went in the store and one of the owners was speaking to a client. She is very professional and is interested in clients and her business.. The other owner a man, was speaking to a friend. I walked up the person behind the foot counter and requested a prosciutto and mozarrella sandwich. The lady looked at me and said, "I do not speak english." I said no problem and repeated my request and she seemed to understand. Then the lady turned around and kept on working on putting away store supplies and foods. I walked around and looked at the wines, and she was still working on unpacking other things for the store. She finally realized that I was waiting and watching. She then decided to focus on the sandwich order. She said "I have to cut the meat and cheese," and I said yes thank you. She then got a call on her cell which was in her back pocket of her jeans. She grabbed the phone and texted out a message with her gloves which took a long time due to lack of traction on the phone. Finally she finished and then proceed to grab the prosciutto with the same gloves she was grabbing her phone and texting with. When I asked her to change the gloves before handling my food, she said "I do not speak english." I asked the owners to translate. They said that she had just changed the gloves. I said yes but thats before her using her phone and texting with the same gloves she was now handling food and my sandwich with. When I turned back I could see the employee was not happy or amused and I saw the faces she was making and heard her talk in Spanish about again having to change her gloves or something like that. â COVID 2019 V2 is still an issue and restaurants and stores are under strict food handing guidelines. This is even a safety and cleanliness law and regulation even in normal times. Phones are dirty. Never handle raw or cooked food with dirty gloves and do not use a phone to talk and text while handling food items. I just canceled my order and walked out disappointed. Safety and cleanliness are basic requirements. Respecting clients and their health is critical. If employees cannot be bothered to make a simple sandwich and to follow health and safety guidelines, then unfortunately this is not a safe or clean store or deli that I can support, frequent or recommend. Its very sad as the lady who is the owner really seams to care, has a beautiful store and is very nice. It would also be nice if the employee spoke basic English so that she can communicate with...

Read moreBeen wanting to try this little Italian Specialty Food Shop, ORIGINI ITALIAN MARKET MIAMI, and finally took a trip over there today- what can I say đ± there were SOOO MANY delicious jars of spreads, preserves, sauces, spices, meats, cheeses, wines, desserts, đ this place is a GEM! And Vincenzo the owner was a fountain of information, for every jar, box & bag, I asked about he has personally sampled each, which made pairing so easy it was like walking the shop w a personal sommelier- but for meats, cheeses & spreads. And with the vast and delicious selection I almost didnât know where to start, but guessing I could easily go crazy here I decided to start w something easy (also I wanted to surprise the hubs w a quick/easy dinner), so holding myself back i got the following items... for dinner I got PISTACHIO PESTO đ€Ș (yes it was as good as it sounds) w rotini pasta, pinenuts, sea salt & parmesan cheese. Dinner ended up being enough for four- so bonus LEFTOVERS! And double bonus I only used half the jar of pesto & 1/3 of the pine nuts so woohoo we got enough for another dinner, or two, if I donât make too much pasta next time lol! Also IDK about you but cooking makes me hungry so while I did the cooking hubs threw together our snack- toast crisps, mascarpone cheese & a caramelized onion spread, almost went w fig & honey, but decided to try something new and it was delish! So sipped on a RosĂ© đ„ nibbled on some gourmet âcheese & crackersâ, whipped up a quick pesto pasta & viola, DINNER IN 20 w time to spare! Only regret? đ€ Not getting the pistachio ice cream treats for dessert- I was sooooooo gonna get them but than hubs said we already had dessert at home & nixed the parfaits, oh well lol. Final thought... think Iâm gonna splurge next time and get the freshly made frozen truffle ravioli & not letting hubs talk me out of dessert again, HA!...
