Rock Creek Plaza — Attraction in Auburn

Until Kmart either improve or closes and some wonderful store takes its place, it's a functional shopping center, but needs a big anchor store. The shows are mainly empty now in the Kmart, so believe it is going bankrupt. The owners plan to fix this place up and have outdoor dining and music and make it nice. I'm sure hoping they move on that in 2021. It is rather dreary, right now. the afternoon Deli is the highlight of the entire Shopping Center . They have friendly staff and delicious food . We have been eating there, since it opened . The shoe store next door, I really felt The Running Store is excellent. Both places have wonderful , knowledgeable and friendly staff . The SPD grocery store has wonderful meats, best in town and Placer Grand Mountain Mandarin oranges during this season. Many of the staff are very friendly. We shop at the Big 5 a lot, for shoes and camping and swimming gear. The Donut Shop is good. However, the baker never seems to make enough twist in cinnamon and sugar. Michael's has everything! Petco is great. Especially their grooming center! Smoke store is a small Mom&Pop shop. But they have everything you need. Katie their one employee works hard and still maintains a positive attitude. Say "Thank You" when you see her, she deserves it! Kmart is Kmart.😕Bank of America manager Daniel is a pro, shake his hand he runs a great staff that treats you like you are part of their small family. I think there are plenty of good shops to choose from for your needs in this area. I must say the parking lot can be an annoying experience though. The way it's laid out and the fact that there are fast food drive through that add to the traffic can be frustrating. The staff at the smoke shop are very nice. Ulta has a lot of great things for us ladies, and Michael's is always fun with very nice staff. I've not been to all places here. Kmart has got to be the one disappointment. Poorly stocked, poorly staffed, it's a sad remnant of what it used to be. There is never enough help and most of the time they do not have what we are looking for.
