Let me just start by saying I never do this type of review. But this experience was so disturbing and unwarranted that I felt I needed to. I had been coming here for about a year, consistently every 60 days. My daughter and myself. I absolutely loved it and believed I’d finally found my place. My cuts and highlights were amazing and all was good in the kingdom. I’d say the final few times I’d gone my hair cuts were starting to get a bit off but not bad enough to where I couldn’t deal with it, but let’s stop there for a moment because no one should need to “deal” with anything at prices from 100-400 a pop. We should absolutely LOVE all the time consistently. Just my opinion. However, I wasn’t getting the consistency in the routine cuts. I wanted movement around my face area but it seemed like that was equating to layers. Which long layers are “ok” but that wasn’t what I was asking for. At the final appointment I thought I’d show “Bec” a photo of myself with a cut I not only came in with but she did and said I wanna get back here. I’m not sure if that offended her in some way or if she was simply having a bad day, either way what transpired after was unacceptable from not only her but management as well. I knew it was looking sort of short while she was doing it but what are you supposed to do at that point. After she styled it and I left I immediately went home and washed it so that I could see what exactly I was dealing with considering a lot can bet camouflaged when styling. It was beyond the worst cut I’ve ever in life gotten from anyone. To the point I cried. It looked as though she’d put a bowl on my head. It was a mullet. Literally! There were pieces so short I couldn’t even get my hair into a ponytail. I called hysterical about it. I was told the manager would reach out. She took several hours to do so…. Not an ounce of urgency at all. When she did she left me a voicemail telling me I could come back and they’d see if they could fix it or I’d be credited for my next appointment. First of all, there was no fixing this without chopping my length almost entirely off, and I shouldn’t have been told I’d be credited at my next appointment, that money should have gone straight back onto my card. I went back in after 60 days and there were still some pretty short pieces. I ended up going to who my daughter goes to and got what can only be described as the best effort at being cordial. It was beyond uncomfortable. The manager was there and never approached me at all and so was Bec. Neither of them even offered a face to face apology they treated me as if I somehow were to blame for their incompetent actions. The shampoo was as short as it gets, and the conversation was chilly. I only allowed a slight trim in an attempt at blending the damaged pieces. The appointment was comped due to the last appointment and I still chose to leave a tip. I just couldn’t believe the treatment and behavior that was not only displayed by the stylist but the manager. This is definitely not how this needed to be handled and to be honest had it been handled with a bit more compassion they wouldn’t have lost not only myself but my daughter as well. I walked into the salon and was greeted by the front desk who actually looked up from to computer to tell me hello. After I checked in they immediately asked if I would like something to drink. Very nice touch! I meet my stylist Kelly. Kelly took the time to find out exactly what I was looking for.
For many women a great shampoo is a deciding factor in a salon. Their shampoo stations are amazing! Money well spent here!! It was nice to not be in pain while my hair was being shampooed and rinsed. Reclining seats and an additional pad to make the sink more comfortable for clients. Not to mention the amazing shampoo job from Kelly!

It was very natural and subtle but extremely brightening and lasted a long time. I'm writing this review 5 months later because I was recently reminded how great my experience at Genesis was. I unfortunately do not live in GA and was due for a touch up. All I wanted was for somebody to basically refresh the highlights Galen did so well. I even showed them a picture of the hair she did. The salon I went to down here somehow turned my hair a DARK silver/purple... I am currently typing this looking like a slightly purple haired grandma.... Learn from my mistakes and don't trust just anybody with you hair no matter how "simple" your request seems! Go to somebody experienced and who listens to what you want like Galen!
