We have found our pets new vet for life! I was apprehensive that the reviews would be too good to be true, as had happened to us previously with a different local practice. But that was not the case, they really deserve all the glowing reviews they have and then some! I can say with certainty that they have definitely earned each and every single one of those 5 star reviews after having several visits there this week with my two cats.
I cannot say enough nice things about this practice! They are everything we've been looking for in a veterinarian practice since relocating to Orlando.
We have had a very difficult week with our 5 year old cat needing to have some tooth extractions, and our year old baby kitty coming down with a high fever at the same time. Everyone from the front desk ladies, the technicians, to the doctors are so kind and compassionate. They made a very stressful situation much less stressful and I felt my cat kids were in excellent hands!
Throughout the week we had the pleasure of meeting and working with all but one of the practicing Vets here and they were all phenomenal! They were all great at explaining what was going on while answering our questions and of course took great care of our cats.
Their pricing has been very fair as well, especially considering the amount of time and all the different medications our pets needed. It has been such a relief to find a place that truly cares about your pet and not your wallet. Your pet will be in great hands no matter who they end up seeing over there!...
Read moreI live in Northern California. While visiting friends and where I use to live in Orlando, I made an appt. to take my dog to Dr. Cushing at South Orlando Animal Hospital. She was the veterinarian for one of my dog's 20 years ago. My current dog has a skin condition that 3 veterinarians and a dermatologist here in Northern California could not diagnose. Since we were vacationing in Orlando, I reached out to my previous veterinarian, Dr. Cushing at South Orlando Animal Hospital and made an appointment. I described on the telephone, all of my dog's symptoms. She named the condition of what the symptoms sounded like, but told me my dog would have to be examined and possibly tested, during our visit to Orlando, to get a diagnosis. Dr. Cushing took her time with us during the examination and answered all of our questions. She was very informative, patient and caring. Dr. Cushing showed us references (with pictures) in medical books to show us what was happening with our dog. Dr. Cushing stated my dog's condition looked like the same condition she mentioned on the phone. She recommended a biopsy. When the results came back, the results were what she mentioned on the phone and during the examination. She nailed it! She was able to diagnose what various veterinarians and a dermatologist, here in Northern California, could not diagnose. This is why I highly recommend South Orlando Animal Hospital !!! I am relieved to finally know my dog's diagnosis and the treatment he is now receiving. Thank you Dr....
Read moreThe vets and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. That is where my positive experience ends with this vet BUSINESS. After looking at my cat's itemized bill I was shocked. First off, when I took my cat in and they discovered that he had a bladder stone that had blocked his urethra I was quoted an estimate of $350 to $500 for treatment. An hour after leaving the office I received a call saying that they wanted to do an x-ray for $100. I OK'd this charge. When I picked up my cat the bill was close to $900. The amount that this vet charges for different things is ridiculous. $38 for an antibiotic that cost less than $9, $31 for each shot given to my cat, and $71/day to keep an 11 pound cat (after calling around to several vets this week the average fee is less than $35 in South Orlando). When I picked up my cat the vet happily said I am not going to charge you for one day because of the holiday. But they charged me for the entire stay. In a separate case I happened to inquire how much they charge to spay a 4 month old kitten....to my surprise they quoted $224 as long as there are no complications. Calling other vets in this area I found the most expensive vet was $99. There is some disconnect with this office. I will NEVER take one of my animals to this office. Furthermore, I will tell everyone that I know with animals to avoid this office...
