2021.12-22/TUE_0800: We visited the South Point Hotel and Casino to go to the South Point Bowling Center. The hotel and casino is nice. Right when you walk in, there's a Starbucks to the left and immediately in front of you is the casino. You have an oyster bar, too. Generally, that's open a little later.
In the bowling center, you have an awesome snack bar with a lot of goodies to choose from. There's also a bar inside the bowling center. The bar also has a few slot machines in it to so if you want to play and watch people bowl, you can.
The staff at the bowling center was extremely nice and friendly. Veronika was always there to assist us when we needed anything. She always had a smile! The lanes here were really nice and the facility was huge and so clean. They also had a pro shop but it didn't open until a little later. All in all, our experience is always fantastic every time we visit and we'll be back again! South Point is always our number one when we visit!
11 months prior: We drove all the way from SoCal to bowl at South Point since it is the closest OPEN bowling alley. It doesn't look like CA is going to open up anytime soon...hell, CA's bowling alleys might close for good since all bowling centers were pretty much struggling prior to COVID...
This place is huge and super clean. Ventilation is great, too. The staff is very nice, courteous and attentive. They're on top of the CDC guidelines and enforce it. I've seen the staff confront individuals who weren't adhering to their rules several times in the few minutes that I was sitting there. They did an amazing job renting every other lane so you're far from other bowlers. The staff was always within your sight and they're attentive. They have a nice system in place when it comes to sanitizing. You will also hear a safety recording over the PA system regarding mask wearing and how to cover your nose and mouth at the same time. So yes, it's enforced. You can't hear the music while bowling but you'll definitely hear the safety recording. That would be my one suggestion - turn up the music. Other than that - nothing else! The staff at South Point was fantastic and the experience was great. We haven't bowled in six months so this was a great experience!
Definitely worth the trip. We solely visited South Point to bowl so this experience was what we encountered and it was fantastic! It was totally worth the trip and...
Read moreBowled in the National bowling congress' national tourney and it was held here. Stayed last year but not this year. The amenities are boundless but it very spendy to stay. It's zbout 10 miles to the strip but still is very crowded. Especially the table games, I vudnt get a seat for an hour. Very good atmosphere and lots of friendly guests and staff. Pretty clean place thru and thru. Excellent bowling facility, actually they gave 2 bowling centers in the place just a minute apart. And also a rodeo grounds and have National events in that sport also. Very large pool that is nice every where around it. Views from the rooms aren't special cuz there's nothing in that part of town. There is finally one main road that goes right to the strip but is being constructed to be better and it is a very rough drive. Better take the hwy 15 around it if possible. Food is good and really good if you are able to be seated during happy hour. The prices are extremely cheaper then. Overall and excellent place to go...
Read moreDone with this place after 12 years of non stop league bowling thru summer and winter. Shot being put down to keep everyone playing same part of labe a joke, new management terrible, secretaries all stacking teams to try to win $40 and push chests out as Debbie's influence runs show.
Taking my disposable business elsewhere. Great thing about Vegas is that locals have many options of where they spend night out for bowling, food and gaming.
One bowler lost may not seem to matter but others are disgruntled with the new south point lanes also. At least I can look in the mirror and smile as not spending anymore $ bowling at this once premier house that is being driven into total decline.
Wow... I left Sunset for this place many years ago and they still call me each and every winter and summer to comeback, so maybe even mega casinos too big for there roots never know what business their losing till its gone and they work to get back what...
