Stereo King Salem — Attraction in Salem

Came in to get led projector fogs and aftermarket horn installed.

+1 For being referred to stereo king by a few friends. +1 For quick install. +1 Decent price. +1 The place know what they are doing when it comes to stereo (had a few friends get theirs install here)

1/2 for not giving me a walk-through when install was done until I asked about if the fog lights were aimed correctly. Then was told the fogs were just installed and not aimed but they look like the right height. Then was told by the installer that it was easy to re-aim with a long flat head screwdriver and showed me the supposed hole where I could reach the adjustment knob. Waited until dark to see how they were aimed. Ended up being too low. The hole was not the one where I could access the adjustment knob.

-1/2 For giving me false info about the hole that I was supposed to use to re-aim the fogs the first time because the second time I came in to get them actually aimed, he actually showed me the clips that was suppose to be taken off to open up a flap to be able to aim the fogs and showed me the short philips screwdriver he used to re-aim the fogs.

-1/2 For staff leaning on my car. Don't know about anyone else but I do not like things/people leaning on my car.

-1/2 For aiming them too high when I came back to get them aimed. It doesn't seem like these kids know what level the fogs are suppose to be aimed at and how to test it. Ended up re-aiming the fogs myself that night knowing how to access the adjustment knob myself now.

-1/2 because I set the volume the radio to 1 and have my bass knob how I always have it. When I paid and got in the car the volume was changed and the bass knob was messed with as well. Don't know why my radio and bass knob was played with when all I needed was fogs and horn install.

Talked to a guy there who said he would pass on the info to the manager as well as give him my phone number so I could be reached. It's been 4 days since then and no phone call as I sit here writing this.

$230 I was comfortable with paying because I didn't have the tools or knowledge and wanted a completely satisfied install where I didn't have to redo some stuff myself. That was not the case. But that's just the fog lights. Horn works awesome though. And they do do great jobs with stereo and everything stereo related since my friends had their's installed by this place and are completely satisfied. Maybe I just have bad luck.

The picture with my finger pointing at the hole was where he told me to use a long flat head screwdriver. The second time I was shown the clips that open up a flap to actually reach the adjustment knob that he didn't clip...

I'm taking a minute to rave about the great service I received at Stereo King. If you are looking to buy car stereo equipment or accessories for your car at an affordable price, I highly recommend you go to Stereo King. Their service is exceptional; the employees are knowledgeable and very competent. I bought a stereo receiver, amplifier, and speakers for my truck. I also had them install a rearview mirror with monitor camera, (I kept backing into things). Tim walked me through the products that would best fit my needs, I'm a grandmother so I do not need the loudest and top of the line products for my vehicle. The service was exceptional. They had time to drop me off at the mall while they worked on my vehicle. Before they dropped me off I spoke to Rob, he was doing all of the installation. I told him I had brought a can of WD-40 and it was on the front seat of my truck. I asked him if he could spray whatever looked like needed spraying once he got the driver's side door panel off because my electric window would often get stuck. I told him my truck had sat for a long time and I think things might be a little rusty behind the panel; he said he would look at it. I got a call at the mall and Rob said my window motor was going out. He said he would install a new one if I wanted to buy one. When they came to get me at the mall, they drove me to Auto Zone to pick up a new window motor. For a few extra bucks Rob installed it for me with all of the other installations. All of the employees were so helpful and made me feel a part of their business family. They went over and beyond the normal service I have received at other businesses. They were very busy but they found time to give this granny excellent service. I got to drive home listening to my oldies classics blasting away from my new speakers. I give this business...

I just yelled at Scott because I spent thousands of dollars there and they repeatedly don't care about quality control.

Each time they did something to my truck I documented it and then ask them if they could correct it

It seemed to be a bother each time

The first time was that they did not rehook up my battery cables correct and it was pouring rain

Not that big of a deal but to get into my truck and have it stall down the road Because their service tech didn't take 2 minutes to put the negative spot on the battery

Then the deck kept messing up over and over and over and every time I would call them they acted like they didn't know who I was

Then I finally went in and got new stuff and paid them more money

All together it was easily over $3,000

But they broke my heated seat

I kept trying to make it back in but it just didn't work out with things and they say they won't fix it unless they see it directly

I asked for a compromise because I don't live in Salem and won't be coming back just to have them fix my seat

But I guess I want to have some kind of way to recoup the loss of what it's going to get me to fix my seat

I said to Scott to clarify my thinking even though I spent thousands of dollars with your company you don't think I'm telling you the truth

He said yes and hung up on me do not come here! Tell all your friends
