Thai Massage Society — Attraction in Sterling

Wanted to like this place but just can't justify a high rating like others here (note there is an incentive to rate highly). Went for a massage and was told you would be asked the specific type at start. Now the place is very clean and the rooms are comfortable. However I rate mostly on the experience itself which was lackluster and painful. Was not asked which type of massage I wanted and I put down "medium" initially for pressure on form. The masseuse was extremely rough in her technique (or lack thereof) and did not once ask how the massge was or the pressure until I nearly told her to stop and reduce pressure. She seemed almost agitated. Technique was basic and kept pressuring the same area repeatedly as if she was not trained properly. The oil or lotion they use is not comfortable at all and was not cleaned off completely near the end. I've been to many massage places and can tolerate different pressure, but this was just awful and painful. Nails were not trimmed low enough and felt them at times during the massage. Now, you see the high ratings? They have a sign saying that if you rate highly they will give you a discount? Wow. Would never recommend based on this experience and the incentive to rate highly to receive perks. Makes you question the other reviews here....

I’m giving 2 stars only because the masseuse was excellent,she did an amazing job during my session and even managed to put me into a deep, relaxing sleep. However, the overall experience was disappointing. We booked a 60-minute couple’s massage, but realized the session ended after just 45 minutes. When we asked why it was cut short, the lady at the front desk became immediately defensive and began raising her voice all in response to a simple question. Her explanation was that the first 15 minutes were used to fill out forms. This was never communicated to us, especially considering it was our first time there. I calmly told her that if we had known this in advance, we would have either booked a later time or rescheduled. She then rudely responded that we would have been charged for the full session anyway and ended the conversation with a sarcastic “sorry.” She was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. I will never return here for any reason. My husband was even more disappointed than I was, and the relaxing effect of the massage was completely undone by the poor...

3 year UPDATE.... this place remains my go-to massage spot even after trying other places. I keep going back here for my deep tissue massages. Nook is still amazing and overall quality of service here is A+. I always leave feeling so much better. I also appreciate how easy it is to book appointments through Vagaro. Thank you!

Very clean facility! The beautiful smell of essential oil instantly makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. I've been getting deep tissue massages here from 3 different massage therapists (Apple, Nook, Cailin) they are all very consistent.
