Nov 8th 2024, while paying I was told a group of items were 0.99cents each like the rest of them in the store. Then while handing the Cash over to the Cashier the Security Guard Rico tells the cashier hey aren't those $1.99 and then the security guard proceeds to take the items and walk to another employee and says to her, not ask her - hey aren't these $1.99? and the other employee then agrees with him. Now all of a sudden the now 16 items for $20 is now $40! It's really Crazy he was getting my prices increased after just telling me how his son comes up big on the same stuff they are selling cheap. So after feeling I'm getting played by the security gaurd I asked to speak to the store manager since I already just purchased $47 worth of the same items and I also shop here often so I know the how they Typically price items Open vs Loose items. They give me the owner/managers number Drew who I call and explain the situation he then tells me to wait at the store while he calls the store and to hear their side of the story. Once he's done talking with the workers for about 10 minutes, the lady Emma comes over and says they are NOW $10 EACH! š So I try and call the manager back and ask him why we are now at $10 from the .99 cents originally and of course what do you know he doesn't answer! I then send him a text saying I'll be leaving an awesome review of this experience at this business. He then quickly calls me back and now all of a sudden say's they are rare and vintage and he can't do anything but now to sell them at $10 each LOL I did not purchase the items, as I felt the pricing was unprofessional and the experience was unsatisfactory for a regular customer. I advised the manager/owner that I would be leaving a review about this incident which he did not seem to care at all. He seemed to be pricing them so high IMO that if I did buy it he would profit good from my purchase. Not sure what kind of scheme this is to increase profit but he made me want to return everything I had just purchased. If the owner is worrying about charging anyone more he should to his security gaurd and his people since obviously he is not watching what he's purchasing or his people. If you come here make sure the security guard Rico doesn't get your prices increased. This is my experience at the cave location on Arden way today and I hope it helps stop this kind of experience at this location as I typically enjoy spending my hard...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been a collector of pop culture memorabilia for 30 years. Records, programs, shirts, posters, I have it, including a collection of rare, vintage, jersey-style concert t-shirts dating from the late 70's to early 2000's. Over 140 of them. So when I heard about the Cave, I thought I would check them out to see if they would be true to their policy of not offering low-ball bids. They recommend sending a message to one of their social media accounts, so I did. I told them that I had a large collection of vintage concert t-shirts that I wanted to sell as a whole, not piecemeal and that I wanted one of the owners to reach out to me to discuss logistics. I got a message back saying they were interested but nothing regarding my request to communicate with an owner. So, i went in the following day and brought 7 shirts. They told me it might take a day or two to do an evaluation and get back to me with an offer. I said fine. Day later, I get a call. They tell me the offer and it was, sad to say, insulting it was so low. I know they weren't trying to insult me but their offer was laughable is was so low. The next day, I went in to get my stuff and the counter person said that my offer had been increased. I looked at it, it was still low but at least it wasn't a slap in the face. But here's the point. I told them I had no interest in selling just a few shirts, I wanted to sell the whole collection. NO ONE EVER ACKNOWLEDGED MY REQUEST and I never heard from any of the owners. Clearly, no one ever bothered to tell the owners what I wanted and in that sense, they wasted my time. So, bottom line, don't be surprised if they low-ball you too, and I wouldn't bring anything really valuable into them because it doesn't look the owners are that directly involved in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store has A LOT. Music on cassette, CD, and Vinyl. Videos on VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray. A variety of clothing in various sizes. Comics, old video game strategy guides, a handful of TTRPG books, manga, and light novels. Games and systems from the old Commodore to the PS5. Random collectible toys and statues from various current anime and new/old franchises like Marvel, DC, and Ghostbusters. There A LOT of stuff here.
The only reason I'm giving this place 4 out of 5 stars is their organization is VERY POOR. If you are looking for a particular rock band CD you will be spending multiple hours filing through the large section of CDs. They have a section labeled for rock, but it stops there. New releases and old stuff seems be mixed together for better or worse. Imagine a rich relative with everything you could want in their house passing away and you have sort through a hundred boxes to find what you want. That's the experience you will have here. Some of the smaller sections like manga and light novels are fine and manageable, but the aren't even alphabetized. The only section that was alphabetized was the Blu-ray section. Their clothing section is the same with no sorting by size of any kind. Which would have been so bad if I could actually see the clothing to see if I want it or not.
Again, there is A LOT of good stuff here. I found a copy of Mega Man X soundtrack on Vinyl to add to my collection. But finding all the individual DVD cases for the anime Last Exile was time consuming as I had to search 4 separate shelves as they were all broken up for some bizarre reason. My advice to the owner of this location: have your staff spend a bit of time organizing each day before the store opens. It will make your customer's experience...
