Universal Furniture — Attraction in Oak Ridge

10/10/13 My grandmother/mother who is 83 went into Universal Furniture Inc. with my other grandmother thinking that it was American Signature Furniture. She had an advertisement from American Signature Furniture for a pillow top mattress for $199.00. She told Lee that she wanted the mattress that they had on the advertisement for sale, believing that she was at American Signature Furniture. The sales rep Lee told her that she was in the right place and that they had the mattress on sale. They misrepresented who they were and sold her something that is not what she wanted.

The same day went back to the store to cancel the transaction because they were not the ones she intended to purchase the product from and the product is not what she wanted. The owner refused to credit/refund her credit card and product has not been delivered. They told her in my presence that she should have read the sign and known better.

He also admitted that he knew she was in the wrong place but that they were not telling her that as it is not their place to send someone to a competitor store.

This is unethical business practice and borderline elderly...

I would put zero stars if it would let me. These people are the lowest of the low. I would rather deal with snake oil sales people or used car salesmen.

Not only are their sales reps pushy, buy also unapologetic when they take more than 9 days to deliver a product. (Lee and Obed specifically) Pray they don't have a delivery mishap with your order, otherwise you will be stuck trying to find out when you will get your item. They hung up on me twice and the only thing they did to try and alleviate the problem was to have it delivered to me free of charge -which made them take even longer. When I offered to pick it up instead and get the money they would've spent on shipping as a refund, they rejected it stating that even though they are -supposedly- not making ANY money on the sale, they would rather ship it than give...

My husband was a client for long time and he told me about them one the we go there because we want to bed for the kids and the owner was there but a Spanish man helping us the bed is a trash my kids can I even sleep on it and we have a problem with the mattress we pay for orthopedic they send us a trash mattress I personally call them the Spanish guy was in vacation when he come back we go there he said we have to pay more we pay more he only change one mattress I don’t want to go back in for with them since then I tell everybody about what they did,stay away from them they only want money they don’t care I long we...
