I am not normally the type to leave reviews, much less a single star, but I feel the need to warn people about the Waldin in the Dulles mall. I went there searching for a ring for my at the time boyfriend. The saleswoman was extraordinarily insistent, promising me discount after discount without giving me any actual information on the rings. I was told nothing about how long they would last, what material was sturdiest, etc. I was told that if I purchased that day, they would give me a big discount, but I wanted to wait and be smart about such a big investment, and I was not even allowed to take photos! They are the one jeweler in the mall that does not allow photos! Naturally, I got my ring elsewhere.
Now, today, my now fiancée and I (yes, he said yes.) went to Waldin's again. I warned him in case the same saleslady was there, reminding him not to be pressured into rash decisions. A woman proceeded to haggle him down, promising a 300 dollar ring for 50 dollars if he purchased today, and gave no information whatsoever about the ring itself, how sturdy it would be or how customizable it would be. Just "You like? I give you discount." "What is it made of?" "Mm... diamond." "How sturdy is it?" "I can give you half off if you buy today." "I think we should think about it." "I'll talk to my manager to see if I can give it for 50."
I think I was entitled to my brief Karen moment when she almost pressured him into purchasing a ring, and started tacking on extra fees, like 75 freaking dollars to measure my ring size? Absolutely not. For such a big investment, people should be encouraged to take their time, think, and know exactly what they are getting into.
If you are reading this and skipped to the end, basically, the salespeople will pressure you to make a potentially expensive purchase immediately, tell you nothing about the ring, and are painfully obviously digging for their commission. Go to Kay's or Diamond Concepts, those folks are nice and they actually know a darn thing about what...
Read moreI stop by this place for the battery replacement of my watch. They charged me upfront 15 fillers to fix. And they told me it takes 10~15Minutes. So I left that store and browsing at the mall about 15 minutes. When I came back to the store the man said it is not ready yet, the watchmen is kind of busy. And told me to wait just little bit more.I was wait 5minutes more. The watch is not ready to take home yet. I told the man (maybe manager) that I want to leave. Beacuse it is almost time to pick up my child from school. They refund me 15 dollers .BUT!! My watch was not the same . The little screw was messed up. They don't have right took to open my watch and tried with many things to try open!! I am so upset that they did not tell me the truth at the time I was in to pick up. They lied to me saying watchmen is just busy. I highly NOT recommend this shop. It will cost me more to buy new screw that...
Read moreMy Fiancee and I are here for buying 2 Tissot watches . We walked in with a strict budget for 2 watches in our minds determined not to exceed it. The store Manager Toby is kind enough to make sure that all our requirements are met when buying those watches . Toby went that extra mile and placed order for the watches that we liked , but are not present in the store at that time . We ended up buying 3 extra watches because of the way Toby handled our requirements. He is not someone who would push customers to buy the priciest pieces , but someone who will listen to what you want and help you pick up what you want .This is the place to be if you are looking to purchase watches . They have good collection of diamonds too.
Overall we are extremely happy with our...
