TERRIBLE STORE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Been going for a year and never had a good experience. My local game store near uni is was better. Terrible store if you want to be treated properly and fairly. They over charge on things, terrible customer service, and know nothing except magic the gathering. Even then, they give out bad information.
Here’s I’ve dealt with over the year I’ve been going:
Recently came in for destined rivals etb. They were selling it for 2-3x the MSRP and the 2-3x price on TCGPlayer. It was at $90 on TCGPlayer, they sold it for $240 cuz “it’s sold out on pokemon.com”. They don’t know anything about pokemon. Be aware. They have a box of FAKE pokemon cards. One employee told me she looks through the box of fakes. I ordered a munkidori card and the employee gave me a heavily scratched card instead of a good one that I ordered and said I can’t get a different one.
They’re always out of cards on the website too.
They over charge for collection boxes. Over charge for video games, especially in the cases. They over charge their consoles too.
The customer service is down right terrible. They act like they’re above you all the time, and they will try to sell you anything they can. They don’t know anything about any card game except Magic the gathering.
I opened a MTG pack in the store. One guy at the front desk said he’d offer 75% of msrp, then the guy looking at the card offered me $15 for my $45 card I JUST PULLED in the store. He said “I don’t know if you pulled it. I see scratches on it” when I had just pulled it out of the pack with clean hands and proper methods.
Absolute joke of a store. Claim to be the good guys. They sell at scalper prices. I will repost this if they delete it....
Read moreThe staff at this store is the only reason I give it an extra star. There are a few nice staff members here that I enjoy having conversations with when I go in. They seem to have a true passion for the games they play and are overall nice guys.
Unfortunately, I can't give a better review for this place. I won't be returning here now that I have used up my store credit as the store has, unfortunately, went downhill in terms of practice and pricing. They have began scalping all of their pokemon tcg products and selling far above MSRP. $40 for a $20 trainer toolkit, most trainer boxes $20+ above MSRP and champions path anything is jacked up far beyond that.
I understand pokemon is currently dealing with a botting/scalping game and players are being forced to pay 1.5-2x MSRP to buy sealed product but I hoped I could avoid this by shopping at my local game store. Unfortunately, I now have to take my business elsewhere in order to be able to afford my hobby which sucks because I have shopped here for a while. Here's hoping they can change their prices and I can return at some point but I believe I'll be finding a new LGS.
(Extra criticism- their prices for warhammer, DnD, and the plushies can be quiet high as well. Make sure to check games workshop before buying warhammer product. Sometimes they mark up past MSRP for some reason. They should price mark it down if you confront them. Also, avoid their buylist. The value for some cards is all over the place and I found you can get consistently better buylist prices...
Read moreCertain employees at this store will lie to you about products to make sales. I had never bought a full box of cards before, due to the high price, but when I asked about a certain card I was looking for, one of the employees took a box off the shelf and assured me that the card was part of the set list of this box, as a secret rare. I continued to ask about the set list, inquiring as to other cards on the list, and he read off a few (never actually showing me the list). I was still hesitant, but in the end, I decided to take a chance, since I had been assured, multiple times, by the employee, that the card was part of the set list. It wasn't until later that night when I had already opened half the box and already pulled a secret rare that I decided to look up the set list, only to find out that the card I had initially bought the box for the chance to find, WASNT ON THE SET LIST AT ALL. I went back into the store to talk to that same employee and was told that he thought I wanted something "based on the card" and then proceeded to lie to me again. Instead of offering me compensation, or even a partial refund, I was given half-hearted apologies for a "mix-up". Im not upset at not pulling the card. Its not about not getting some nice collectible. Its the fact that someone looked me in the face and lied to me to get me to drop $80 when they already had me as a customer, and now? Now they've lost me as one. And ill be sure to...
