World Market — Attraction in Sierra Madre

I was in line only one reg open and a Marcie was just chit chatting away with the customer at the reg about a recipe instead of idk maybe opening another register to help die down the line a bit? Then when she walked away I approached her because I saw a sign saying pick up online order here but the reg had all kinds of boxes on top of it and she looked at me with distain and said cashier you have to go to the cashier brushing me off not helping one bit. I'm sorry but if you buy online I shouldn't have to wait in line... then she's just standing around the store not helping anyone. Her demeanor towards me felt very discriminatory because she was very friendly to everyone around me but me. Then the cashier some blonde woman walks up and the cashier just takes her instead of saying there's a line. I should have said something to the woman but I believe in karma but the rep should have said there's a line too and didn't. Worst experience. This location has not gotten any better. If you buy online because you can't find elsewhere go in pick up your order and leave. Don't shop here. You have been warned. Hopefully WM will do something about the customer service reps at this place, despicable behavior from all of them. Not one greeting, not once can I help you find anything...NOTHING. Just treated indifferently. Do better.

I was at this location on Saturday 12/19/20 at about 5pm. There was no line outside the door nor an employee monitoring the door. It seemed kind of crowded for covid restrictions at first but I shopped quickly. When I went to the checkout line it was stretching all the way to the back of the store. There were no markings on the floor except near the registers, and people were standing about 4 feet apart with no staff control whatsoever. There were only 2 cashiers so it took 30 minutes to reach checkout. I should have left but didn't. I mentioned to the cashier that it seemed like much more than 20% capacity and she said their manager told them it could be 40-50%, which isn't what the new restrictions mandate. When I left there was a huge line outside, so I guess they finally...

Coming here is like a time machine going back to the good old days when you are a little tike. They sell a variety of things that gives you a sense of nostalgia such as old antiques, furniture, candy, and alcohol. This place can be overwhelming when you come in. The store is a decent size, but is very crampy going through the aisles. Occasionally, you'll be getting close to they neighbor and rubbing shoulders and arms..... to close for comfort I suppose. They also have free coffee and tea samples!
