Disappointed
I began taking my triplets to Aquatic Zone in May 2022 also known as flu season, needless to say we missed out on a couple swimming lessons. To my understanding you would normally do makeup classes, Aquatic Zone suggested I use the missed paid classes from May to cover the additional fees for individual classes for my autistic son because they felt that he would benefit more from having 1 on 1 . Sounds great right? Well I experienced what no mother should ever experience non the less a mother of an autistic child: making it impossible to schedule, cancelling their classes last minute to say the least. I have daily scheduled therapies for my son that are crucial and their unprofessionalism made hard to schedule. There is no other way to say other than they did not want to deal with my autistic son, To the point to not allow him to enter the pool because he had a CLEAN tissue in his nose and accused him of having a bloody nose (he did not, not even a runny nose or cough) he had it in there because as we all know, kids like to pick their nose, and per Aquatic Zone employees that was a “Covid Risk” (I don’t know if I’ve been living under a rock but I haven’t heard CDC mention that as a symptom.) I understand that autism is a condition that many don’t understand however if you plan to run a business dealing with children you should know that taking an autistic child out of their routine is tormenting to them and they do not understand. I pleaded with the owner to not cancel his class, as she humiliated, and screamed at me “I HAVE DONE SO MUCH FOR YOUR FAMILY” say what you would like to me but the after math of that day was heartbreaking hearing my child screaming the whole way home and banging his head against his car seat, I repeat you can not take an autistic child out of their routine they do not understand. Aquatic Zone, I am a paying costumer your services were not free nor discounted and I paid for 3 children so NO that is not a favor its a service. This is the pure definition of discrimination and as I pointed that out to the owner she said “don’t you dare use that word with me” MAM this is DISCRIMINATION and you...
Read moreTERRIBLE LOCATION.
It was my daughter’s first day at this location. Instead of doing a slow approach to get my daughter comfortable with this new setting, the instructor immediately tried to get her in the water. My daughter was hesitant but fine. There was a bag of water toys literally next to her. My daughter grabbed one toy. The instructor rushed to her and said no toys yet, and took it out of her hands. My daughter started crying and refused to go back in the water. Simple training with child development is to redirect the child. Not use negative words and taking things out of their hands. My daughter lasted less than 2 minutes in the class. This place is not equipped to work with younger children. No warmth with the other kids in the pool nor positive reinforcement. The kids were going through the motions but there was no excitement.
There was an additional issue that came up. We requested a make up day for the following week as I will be out of town and my wife, being pregnant, is not comfortable going into warm water. They could not accommodate as it was against their policy. I get that. But the lady asked my wife if she was uncomfortable going into the water pregnant. Not an appropriate question and not her business. Additionally, she asked if we had a friend or relative to take her into the pool instead. Again, not her business. The answer is no. My wife and I do not have any support for our daughters. Unprofessional approach to handling the issue.
Since we were not satisfied, we requested a refund as we were not going to continue with the class. There was ZERO care of our decision. Clear indicator that this place does not value their customers. Very sad to see places like this that work...
Read moreI honestly can’t say enough good things about this swimming school! When I first started, I barely knew how to float – now I can swim all the main strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and even butterfly! And it’s all thanks to the amazing instructors and the great atmosphere here.
The teachers are not only super skilled and experienced, but also incredibly kind and patient. They explain everything in a way that makes it fun and easy to understand, no matter what level you’re at. They pushed me when I needed it and cheered me on when I made progress – I always felt supported.
What really sets this school apart is the positive vibe. Every lesson is full of energy, encouragement, and lots of smiles. Even on tough days, I left feeling happy and motivated. I made new friends, gained so much confidence, and actually looked forward to each session!
If you’re looking for a swimming school that’s both professional and fun, this is the one. I’m so proud of what I’ve learned here – and so grateful to the awesome team who made it happen.
10/10 – would dive in...
