The Corona Bombay Bazar grocery shop owner, Mr. Dhaval started last year a pont system for customers in order to get their cell phone nunbers saying that he would give 1 point for every dollar for their purchases and once 500 points accumulated he would give $10 off. I gave my cell phone# for that he put it in his sales system.
Until after several times purchases, I felt that his points did not seem matching his promised points for dollars. As I could not find my receipts prior to Nov 15, 2024, I started checking from this receipt onwards. Per this Nov 15 receipt I paid $120.30 for my groceries. But only 97 points were added into this receipt and my thus far accumulated points were shown to be 534 and I was supposed to get $10 coupon. But I did not and I was told that I would get it in my next purchase.
My next purchase was on January 24, 2025 and was for $180.80. I was supposed to get 180 points. Instead of that he deducted 411 points from my Nov 15 points of 530. This resulted in only 123 points as my balance points. Infact I should get a balance of 534 + 180 = 714 points.
I still could not get $10 off from this January 24th purchase. Again I was told that I would get it in my next purchase and said I have to redeem his coupon within 2 wks. Otherwise it would expire. He never told that type of condition would be there at his initial points for dollar offer. Few days ago I went to see Dhaval to get explanations for theissues of adding lower points, no points and deduction of large number of points from already accumulated points etc. Only his assistant, Deepa was in the shop. So I reported to her.
She took snap shots of my Bombay Bazar Receipts and said she would sho them and talk to him as he would man the store on weekends.
Today, Saturday March 1, 2025, I went to shop at his "Bombay Bazar" to see how he puts his points on my purchase dollars. So I picked couple of regular items. But since he was already made aware of what he did I thought he might put correct points for this sale.
So with my today' items still in the cart and before putting them on the counter for him to scan, I showed my saved receipts and asked him why he was putting less points than my paid dollar amounts and why he did not put any points at all for my $180 purchases of January 24, 2025? Furthermore, instead of putting +points, why did he deduct -411 points from my accumulated points?
He then suddenly took out my groceries from the cart saying "I do not want to sell anything to you, GO".
That was his EXTREMELY RUDE REACTION when HIS FRAUD WAS BROUGHT to his notice.
I suggest to others who shop at this "Bombay Bazar" at Corona for his points system, please save your receipts and check if your paid dollar amounts match to one point for each dollar and any other related fraud that you may notice. Dr. P
COMMENT IN RESPONSE TO BUISINESS OWNER POSTED RESPONSE:
The business owner Dhaval's response seems to confirm more of his intentional POINTS-FRAUD because: At the time of enrolling the customers, Dhaval did not tell that they would not get points for certain items, There were no items in his shop labelled as "no-points" items, "No-points items were not shown or identified in the customer purchase recipts.
Furthermore, as I said in my posting, no points were added to my January 24, 2025 purchased items that totalled $180.80. Instead of adding points for this purchase, he deducted 411 points from my previous accumulated balance of 534 points.
With my $180.80 purchase I ought to get a total of 180+534 = 714 points. Had he deducted 500 points from these 714 points for a $10 coupon, my balance points ought to be 214 points. And thats not what on my January 24, 2025 receipt.
When I asked Dhaval about these things during my March 1, 2025 shopping showing my saved receipts, his RUDE, IMPULSIVE & UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR OF TAKING OUT THE ITEMS FROM MY CART SAYING, "I DO NOT WANT TO SELL ANYTHING TO YOU, GO" is deplorable.

Read moreBombay Bazar is hands down the best Indian grocery store in town! Dhaval Bhai, the owner, is a true gentleman—always ready to lend a hand and make sure you find everything you need. His staff is just as friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere every time you visit.
One thing I really appreciate is their customer service. If you accidentally buy the wrong item, Dhaval Bhai is more than willing to take a return—just remember, this isn't a big-box store like Walmart or Costco, so be sure to return within a couple of days. It's a family-run business, and they go out of their way to help, so let’s show them the same kindness!
Overall, it's a fantastic store with a great owner who genuinely cares about his customers. Highly recommend Bombay Bazar for all your Indian...
