Still the best sushi place in Southern California. At least, all the ones I’ve been to so far and I’ve been to a lot! Prices gone up just a bit for AYCE (All You Can Eat) lunch and dinner but it’s ok. The amount of sushi I had justified the cost and then some. They’re rather pricey so the AYCE is the better option if you’re a foodie like me. I love the ambient, the staff are always friendly and helpful no matter how busy they get. I like their greetings in Japanese (at least I think they’re speaking Japanese) to every customer that walks in and when they leave. There’s this one guy who’s been working there for years working cashier most of the time but I don’t know if he’s the owner, manager, or what but he’s always smiling and acknowledges everyone that comes and goes. Pretty awesome. I like their happy birthdays when they dim down the lights and play a club type music over the loudspeaker. Then you hear the song. Oh man, it’s so unique. I’ve never gone to their happy hour before but if it’s anything like the happy birthdays, i can only expect more fun. The rice in the sushi are always made fresh and perfectly firm. Never too soft and never too hard. Just right. They have such an abundance of various sushi types. I don’t like the raw ones, but they have plenty of cooked sushi’s. I have yet to taste a bad one or even have the urge to use the restroom afterwards. I have a sensitive stomach and for me not to go, that’s a testament to their freshness. If you’re looking for a place with great customer service, a wide variety of fresh, delicious sushi, you got to try this place out. We always come back to Sushi Asahi, even though we live outside of San Bernardino County. Yeah, it’s worth our time. I will post some picture here but darn it, I can’t remember these names lol. It here they are in all it’s glory. If I order them, they must be good and you should too.

Best ayce ever! Their food is fantastic! Pictures and descriptions at the table of all rolls. Nigiri is perfect fish/rice ratio. They have the rules for bad customers. That being said, three rounds of sushi, order all you want during the three rounds, leftovers are charged full price, one hour limit. My suggestion, go big on your first round and taper down as you get crazy full. Once i had scallops that were okay, but the next time i went back they were top quality again. I seriously can't rave about this place enough. It's got cheap draft asahi too! As i write this i fondly think of the asahi roll, spider, tiger, tuna lover, spicy scallop nigiri, the yellowtail nigiri was perfect, oh and if you love really spicy rolls the sal is albacore on albacore sriracha and jalapenos.

Sushi Asahi is a decent place for Western style sushi rolls. Their all you can eat option is a little overpriced, and the system is a little strange, but the items I had were fine. I had a tiger roll, a "Golden California" roll (California roll deep fried), and a "Snow" roll, which was like a California roll covered in scallops. The food was fine, but the service was spotty and neglectful. Maybe they're still understaffed. I would go back, but I probably wouldn't get the AYCE.

I don't even know where to begin.

That was one of the worst AYCE sushi places I have tried, in terms of service. I'll begin with the food, as it was fair. The food was alright and the proportions were good. I enjoyed the "In N Out Shrimp" and the "Cajun Salmon," but they can't make up for the service that was presented to us.

We came in and were seated promptly. We ordered quickly as we've been here several times and know exactly what we like. The first round started and we were given some appetizers at first. We waited about 15 minutes for the rolls and sushi to start rolling out, but nothing yet. I look around and the table behind us has been served maybe 3 to 4 times at this point. The table in front of us, who arrived later than us received a few rolls too. I ask the server to check on our food and he quickly brought us a plate of tuna and salmon nigiri, which I don't think was our order. We eat quickly, as we have been waiting almost 40 minutes at this point. I ask again to check on our rolls or other appetizers but nothing. We waited another 20 minutes for 2 jout of the 4 rolls to come out.

We barely got through the first round because of how slow the service was. I can understand that it's a weekend and it's dinner time, but are you joking? Almost 50 minutes for our first round to come out. On top of that, the tables around us were receiving 3-4 rolls before our 1st. We weren't even given the other appetizers that we had ordered. I had let it go by this point because I was tired and wanted to leave. I was full (of water and maybe 6 pieces of sushi) and tired because I had come straight from work, excited might I add.

I was looking over at the area where they were preparing the sushi. I feel like our piece of paper with our orders was ignored and placed on the bottom of the other stacks. Please find a way to set a schedule or some sort of line. For example: Table 1 ordered first (so they're first), then Table 2, then 3... so on.

It was unorganized because I would see our rolls being placed down to be served and another server would bring it to another table. I even heard one of the servers say "Hey, there's this extra Angry Eel, what do I do with it" and the other server responded with "This table hasn't received it, just give it to them." I'm sorry what? You weren't tracking our orders? And who ordered first?

And to bring me to my closing. The price. 170 dollars for food, long wait times, and 1.25 rounds even though we were promised with all-you-can-eat. I'm pretty sure I had more oz of water and pieces of ginger than sushi rolls. So I guess if you want to pay 170 to be hydrated, hungry, and upset go right ahead. I paid quickly and left. Take my 170, but at least serve me something.

And to our server, come on. You saw us with nothing on our table. You should have checked at the very least. Ask the sushi chefs. Or something. You hadn't checked in until we said something and looked visibly upset. You hadn't started caring about us until the other tables around us packed up and went home. We felt robbed of our experience and our 170...

TLDR: Blonde manager is rude and prices are too high

Quick alert for anybody planning to get the all you can eat here. Their policies have changed. They are now charging for a full roll for any leftover sushi regardless of amount. It is no longer 50 cents a piece. I also advise to avoid the blonde manager if you go. She has a mean girl attitude and will definitely overcharge you. I paid $15 for what originally cost me $3 in the past for leftover sushi (6-7 pieces). I expressed my confusion to her as she was ringing me up and even comically offered to eat some of the pieces in our takeout box to reduce the price. She rolled her eyes and remarked, "I mean I already charged you for the box." and threatened she was doing me a favor by not charging me the full $25. $25 for an incomplete roll of leftover sushi....We also weren't the only ones with issues. The table to our right also assumed the policy was still 50 cents a piece and were upset about the extra charge. The other workers and our server were very respectful and welcoming. Our overall experience was great except for our interaction with that manager. So, after paying we went up to the front to give our server his tip. The manager told us that he was probably in the back and then proceeded to call him over with very low effort in a quiet voice, not even looking up, as if to mock us. I had brought my friend here for her first time and that just really killed our night. This was my favorite sushi restaurant before Covid-19 hit so I was excited to go back after over a year of not going. Sadly, I left feeling pretty disappointed. Pay attention the most recent reviews on here and on Yelp. Up charging your customers is not the way to go. I don't think I'll be getting my sushi here...
