Like a lot of people, we have heard a lot of great things about Collin Street Bakery and was excited to see what all the talk was about. Unfortunately, our visit was pretty much a disaster. There were 2 employees standing behind the counter in a small office when you walk in just talking. They never acknowledged us or asked us if we needed help, so we went over towards the baking cases/displays. While ordering, we were told to walk to the other end of the counter to get our drink cups. There were now 3 people standing in that area talking. We waited for a good minute or so, before we finally had to speak up and get their attention. They seemed annoyed to be bothered, but we got our drinks. All of that was annoying, but could be overlooked as long as the rest of the experience went well, which it didnāt. While eating a grilled cheese, we found a 1 inch by 1 inch piece of wax paper in our sandwich. We took it back up to the counter and the lady that helped us, seemed to be the manager, only asked for our receipt. She brought a replacement sandwich to our table and then walked off without saying a word. Not once did she apologize for the inconvenience or the fact that there was a foreign object in our sandwich. We understand mistakes happen and unfortunately I have found a lot of stuff in my food over the years, but this is the first time Iāve never had someone apologize. From start to finish, we felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff and they could careless if we were there to spend money. There were at least 5-6 people in the front of the store and only 3-4 customers, so it wasnāt like they were understaffed and overworked. When we left, the manager and one other employee looked over at us, but they didnāt say a word. No one ever greeted us entering or leaving and no one apologized for wax paper being in our sandwich. The food was actually decent and it would have probably been even better if we didn't find something in our sandwich and the customer service wasn't poor from start to finish. We will not return to this Collin Street Bakery for sure and to be honest, we actually donāt have any interest in trying another one based on this experience. I should have taken a picture of the wax paper in the sandwich to post with the review, but I didn't think about it until now. To be honest, we are very forgiving and wouldn't have posted a poor review if they would have just apologized and genuinely showed remorse for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stopped by the original Collin Street Bakery on the way back from Tyler. It takes you right through Corsicana on 31(I think) . If you're looking for it you can't miss it. If you have been to the Collin Street Bakery in Waco the beautiful facility in all white with that antique retro feel to it it is definitely different. Super good as always high expectations as always and they definitely deliver on product freshness customized looks and appeal 4 traditional and original products. Probably two-thirds of the variety that is available in the Waco store as far as sweets go. Much much less floor space to work with than Waco. Super clean super friendly and a space good for a notable tourism draw because it's speak strongly with the decor of the history of the company and its many successes the walls are plastered with Awards and different news postings and pictures and really really cute stuff all over the place. Kid friendly and probably not as obvious but there are some stairs which seemed a little odd right there in the middle and if you go up the stairs there are these cool models that are encased in glass of old timey buildings and stuff from the Collin Street Bakery and some of the surrounding cities original properties not museum-quality but definitely eye candy. Highly recommended if you're into it if you don't get to go by very often or choose not to pay the price did you drive by it once it's worth a stop for sure. Only four stars because it is a little bit pricey but if you've been to any of their locations, you know what to expect so easily 15% more than regular stuff... easily justifiable just as if you were to go into a nicer restaurant that had a reputation for higher quality products, and to pay a little bit more for a steak there versus walking into a regular restaurant and order just a steak. Sandwich Bar and menu items (order from diff counter than cookies & sweets) had a surprisingly large variety to choose from on the menu , very impressive . Solid soup and soup of the day choices. I had a very enjoyable chicken salad sandwich (which I would nomally not choose) and a small portion of the chicken and dumpling soup which was soup of the day. My 18 year old, who is a pretty picky eater, could not stop raving about the 'Triple Decker Grilled Cheese' sandwich Notable that almost every item on the menu came in a small or regular sized portion like a half sandwich or full sandwich or something like that, it's a nice...

I was contacted by Collin Street Bakery with an apology and an offer to make this situation right. It was sincere and appreciated. My disappointment has turned into anticipation as I await my fruitcake. Thanks to the staff for reaching out and correcting a bad experience.
My stars are reflective of the process, not the product.
I lived in Texas for many years and one of the highlights was stopping at Collin Street Bakery to grab a delicious fruitcake. I wanted to bring some of that flavor to family in friends in SC. I ordered a fruitcake from their online store. So far, no issues. I received the email confirming my order and I notice the address for delivery was incorrect. No worries. I go back to my account and quickly change my delivery address...or so I thought.
Fast forward to the email which states my order has shipped. Ugh. The delivery address is wrong. I send a support ticket which goes unanswered for 1/2 a day.
I then called the customer support number on my order. I waited on hold for 10 minutes then get hung up on. I call back and again wait 10 minutes. Then I am told they can not and will not change the shipping address on my order because it's already been shipped. I request a supervisor. I get one. I explain the issue again. She all but calls me a liar saying I can't do what I explained to her I did regarding the corrected address. She sends me to another supervisor who says I can pay $8 and they will send me another fruitcake. What?
Why should I pay more when I already attempted to use their ordering system to change the address, contacted their support line for assistance and no one will tell me the truth. What is the truth you ask?
They don't use Fedx for shipping like it says. They use USPS and they do so in a way that once the package leaves the door NOTHING can be done about it.
I'm most frustrated having spent nearly $50 for a fruitcake only to find I am not going to receive it and Collins Street Bakery could care less.
No, I will not provide you with a good review. No, I will not recommend you to friends, family and/or business contacts. I am most dissatisfied.
