After arriving at the skincare department at Macy’sCosta Mesa, a nice lady took me to speak to an older Persian woman from the Clarins counter. I had a gift card from a past Mother’s Day, and was in search of a Vitamin C/ Hyaluronic Acid Serum for my face. She showed me what she has but it was far too expensive and after telling her that I could easily purchase something for much cheaper on amazon, she insisted inna very smooth and mean condescending tone- “There is no place that sells a double serum for $20. I told her that if this was true, then why have I already purchased 2 double serums on amazon for less than $20. She said, it must be fake. I told her this wasn’t so, and I’d be happy to show her. She said again very pompously, “Show me, Peove It!” (Clearly she was ignorant of the less expensive, but more effective products online, within her Macy’s bubble) I said look here they are. She just replied as if dismissing what I’d shown her by saying, “Well, I’ve never heard of those before!” Surely, one should know that just because you haven’t heard of something before doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist let alone doesn’t mean you’re indefinitely right and I’m not. This ignorance and arrogant behavior isn’t uncommon in the OC, but the rich stuck up attitude needs to be a thing of the past. No longer should someone whose no more than a sales associate behave as if they’ve some educated authority over a customer, let alone to insist a customer to prove anything. This reflects poorly on Clarin’s and Macy’s and neither company would be happy knowing that their sales associates were treating potential customers as if being sales associate at Macy’s merits a superiority complex. No- she’s no different than a shoe salesman and to be honest- that’s an insult to shoe salesmen. Where you work, what you do, how you look, where you live, or how much money you have, doesn’t make you a better or more entitled person. The level of ones integrity, humility, humbleness, and determination in educating themselves about what they’re selling, but not only where they’re selling it, but where else similar products can be purchased at competitive prices and the nobility of your character by how much kindness and open mindedness you offer to others is what ultimately determines how you represent a company. In my opening, if any company business etc. wants to thrive- they should be encouraging associates to be proactive about their products as much as knowing what their competitors are offering to help customers make decisions that assist the customer instead of themselves instead of encouraging associates to compete with one another to fight for customers and sales for the sole purpose of earning commission. I will be contacting the Cosmetic Manager Tracey at Macy’s in South Coast Plaza so she’s made aware of which associates are behaving more like popular stuck up teenagers rather than exemplifying the maturity of what an adult should be beyond fluent in, especially at this women’s age. I don’t care if I come into Macy’s with torn up jeans and no makeup on. What one is wearing doesn’t show anyone how rich they are and how much money they’re about to spend on their company. It’s the level of costumer service, kindness and the lack of ago- that ultimately will determine how much any customer is willing to spend on a company regales if their appearances. Furthermore- if this is how adults continue to behave, then what examples exactly are we demonstrating to our children about all the stuff we preach to them about respect, fairness, and treating everyone equally? It’s all too disconcerting to experience a woman who is at least of 55 years old acting like a spoiled prom queen. If people want to be treated equally they better start treating everyone with the same equality and repeat that I’m surer they expect, when its their turn to be the...

Read moreOn Friday December 27, 2019 at approximately 9:00 PM my husband and I went to the Macy’s located at 3333 Bristol Street Costa Mesa, CA 92626 to get a Movado watch resized that I purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband for close to a $1000.00. When we arrived we were greeted by a pleasant individual by the name of Johnny, who identified himself as the Macy vendor. He was very nice and asked that we wait while he find someone that could help us. Johnny asked around but it appeared no one was interested. It’s as if as soon as they heard we needed a watch resize we were ignored. One individual mentioned to a worker by the name of Annette Robinson that the Movado section was her section and she would help. We waited for approximately 20 minutes with no acknowledgment from Annette who was assisting another customer. Johnny periodically checked on us to ensure we were okay which was very professional and nice of him. After the 20 minutes had gone by another couple came in and Annette quickly acknowledged them and said she would be with them in a few minutes. I then walked up to Annette and said we have been waiting for you for over 20 minutes and that we were next and she said well I’m busy. I then said but we were here before the other couple and she then put her hand in my face and said she was busy. I then asked for her name and she walked off. She then came back a few minutes later and I said what she did was extremely rude and she said oh well. I then said I can’t believe you treat customers like this. Johnny saw all of this and apologized for Annette’s behavior. Not once did Annette apologize. She eventually threw me her business card and did not again provide an apologize.
Eventually an employee by the name of Leticia came to help who had a broken hand. She explained to Annette she has a broken hand and will do the best she can to help us. Leticia went above and beyond and was extremely helpful and was able to resize watch.
In conclusion I am completely disgusted by Annette behavior. I am also sadden that it felt some of the other staff members were more concerned with closing then helping my husband and I. One individual was busy packing the rolexes always, saw us standing there, and did not offer to help.
I have been a loyal Macy customer and can’t believe this is how I was treated. It was very hurtful and is not what I expect from Macy’s. I expect for this to be resolved and to hear back as to how this will be...
